Agree on the daunting aspect of Indian cooking; as well, H claimed to hate it, so I never really put much effort into it even. Now with this beginners book, and H cooking, he really enjoys what he/we have made so far @Sasha. The book is extremely approachable, not complicated, and delivers great results.

Oh no! Our library closed for regular business on March 16. But they reopened again at the beginning of Aug in order to fulfill hold requests. Patrons still cannot go inside. By the way, the book I recommended is not a cookbook. It is the memoir of a man who took his family to Japan for a year so that he could learn about all of its regional cuisines.
