What's on your mind? (2025) - good way to start... even if a bit early... :-)

:hugs:Thanks ya’ll for the thoughts and good wishes. I wasn’t expecting the news I got yesterday, but have to look to next battery of scans and see what is dealt. Fortunately, I have the bestest surgeon in the world:heart: and a loving and supportive family unit:heart::heart:

Fingers crossed tightly! It’s a great relief to be in good hands medically, and to have support from loved ones.

This scares me. DoorDash partners with Klarna for buy now, pay later fast food.

Found on the book of faces. A (clever, I found) visualization of relationship lifelines.

My Determination, Burnout and Resilience are all on the negative side recently. Maybe include Excitement and Courage in there as well.

Those are interesting, but I think it was “parent” and "dof$ that “got to me”.

Same. Accurate, though.

It never ceases to surprise me when businesses release ads or flyers with rampant spelling errors and typos. Does nobody proofread stuff anymore before sending it to print or publishing it?

I’m friends with a local restaurant owner and usually alert her to any typos/misspellings when I see them (and I don’t even charge her for it :upside_down_face:), but you’d think peeps would be more diligent about it in general — first impression n all.

Makes me immediately wary of the restaurant. (Hint:if you’re trying to be fancy, it’s haricots verts, not haricot verts. I see this all the time).

Do NOT get me started on spelling and grammar! Literacy is the first sign of a civilized society!

[Well, maybe not the first, but it’s up there.]

ETA: I’ll cut a lot of slack if English is not their first language. I mean, if I had to order in anything other than English in their restaurant, it would not go well. OTOH, ‘thesaurus abuse’ and the use of quotation marks “for emphasis” (see what I did there?) really piss me off.

I’ve had fantastic food at places (usually non-native to the country I’m dining in) where spelling was creative, but when native speakers mangle their own language and put it out there without anyone having looked over it at least once… meh.

I can’t help it! I blame genetics, upbringing, and my chosen profession (well, one of them)
