Good proverb.

Also, it’s not just the cream that floats to the top.

Don’t you just love it when: the grocers jump on the wagon to raise prices on goods that are already on the shelves? FFS. I kinda understand that they think they’ve got to squeeze a profit at every turn. Bad Juju 2.0. :japanese_ogre:

Color me shocked if all the retailer start doing this. Groceries are the tip of the iceberg.

Groceries are probably what the US imports the least of. Think clothes, electronics, transportation, etc. Two family members who had been planning to buy cars this summer bought last month instead. They decided it was easier on the family finances to have a few months of overlapping payments than wait ing for tariff pricing. The joys of life in the US: one car is never enough for a household of two (or more) commuters.

The stopped producing cars entirely last year as part of a giant brand revamp by the brand’s new owners, Tata Motors of India. The plan is to manufacture a high end luxury all electric car.

The commercials showing the new brand and the concept cars are…. A choice.

It’s not quite the idiocy of tossing “Twitter” for “X”, but it’s pretty damned close.

I’m keeping my old-ish car for now. Thank you, pandemic, for keeping the miles off. I wanted to trade it in, but “want” =/ “need.” The only thing that will need to be replaced are the tires

Good move. Many people aren’t aware that tires have a “best by” or expiration date.

I had to replace a set 10 or 12 years ago because they start to rot …

And we are all awaiting the results with great anticipation!

I’m seriously thinking of getting a new washer/dryer set now. Mine still work (both from 2002; however, that in and of itself is probably the BEST reason to keep them and hope for the best!)

Have to finish my 2024 taxes tomorrow to see how that plays out before I start shopping.

In other news, physicists have announced the discovery of the smallest violin in the universe. The instrument apparently appeared spontaneously in the chamber of the electron microscope at the University College London’s research facility. It appears the instrument, said to be a remarkable replica of a 1705 Stradivarius at a nanometer scale, created itself via quantum tunneling and, to quote Dr. Brian Cox, “the concentrated audacity of a multi-billionaire complaining about proximity to carbohydrates.”

Researches have stated they are close to understanding the quantum mechanisms involved, but remain baffled that those who have almost literally everything are quite cross at being told they can’t have it ALL.

And now, sport!

I thought that was an Onion article at first. But soon realized she’s real. Sheesh.
