it just seems so prevalent lately as a mannerism. I’m not someone who watches the Kardashians et al, but we listen to a lot of podcasts on road trips, and I don’t think I have heard a single female podcaster who didn’t extensively make use of vocal fry.
That is hilarious
I don’t really hear it all that much. But then, I’m not a podcast listener, and don’t really watch much TV programming. Also, I’m not a singer so I’m probably not as attuned to voices as you are.
Most of the time I had run into it was in the professional world, and not that often. But I also retired over 5 years ago, so there’s that re: you noting prevalence is increasing.
I believe a partial eclipse is expected! Oops. Too late.
Werewolves?
There wolf.
The internet of things
Bahahahaha. That’s some quality dad joke right there.
True. And I’ve been a mod/admin.
I run several groups on Facebook. Neither personal attacks nor incessant passive-aggressive digs at other members are tolerated.
It’s a jovial and friendly atmosphere, but I choose my members well. They’re all adults
This was a public Internet forum. We couldn’t choose who signed up, but we could block people - and we did. With increasing frequency. It would be totally unmanageable/ a full-time job today.
Oh, tell me about it! But if you have a “one strike you’re out” rule, things stay pretty calm.
I like it that way.
In 3 decades of being a singer/songwriter, it would not once have occurred to me that I’d ever find songwriting inspiration on a food discussion forum
Life and art are truly, deliciously random
Food, glorious food
We’re anxious to try it
Three banquets a day, our favorite diet
Just picture a mammoth steak, fried, roasted or stewed
Oh, food, wonderful food, marvelous food, glorious food
Food, glorious food!
Not specifically food-themed, this song, as I just recently wrote one about diet culture, etc.
But you might enjoy this thread if you haven’t seen it yet
It was quite a celestial night…if you could see anything! We even missed the space station fly over because of the clouds. Darn!
Strange, the link I posted doesn’t have the play’s lyrics, here, which match @LindaWhit it’s post above.
Was my link a parody?
No eclipse to be seen, but a brilliant bright moon over the city last night.
I’ve given up on capturing the moon many moons ago.
