Beautiful. I will share the poem with my wife.
Tyou all. I appreciate the acknowledgement.
I do find myself reciting this to myself on those āholiest of all holidays.ā
Years ago, I wrote a song about my kid. I still play it annually. Itās called, Flyer. My wife bakes his fav cookie annually. Leaves it out on a tray. Rituals. Helpful.
And Iām sure the song and the cookies keep your son close to your heart.
One of our Aussies decided to counter surf and knocked a corning ware casserole dish on the kitchen floor breaking it and licking the contents. His tongue is bleeding. We put him in his crate with a bowl of water and are giving him ice cubes, hoping that the blood will coagulate. DH said it doesnāt look like a major cut. The nearest emergency vet is about 45 minutes from us without traffic, and weāre loaded with tourists on the Cape this week.
Poor little dude, hope he is OK
Me, too. Heās the most difficult Aussie weāve ever had. Heās 5 and still gets into things. Not looking forward to the fireworks this week, either. Heās very reactive to them.
81 now, 66 tonight. Heading to the ocean for RnR. Make it a great day!
Weāre having a mini cold spell in DC - high of about 82 today but back into the 90s later this week.
Come to Berlin! Itāll be between 60-70F tomorrow. Itās been a strange 1st of July, weatherwise.
Hunkering down in the AC here too. I MIGHT go to a movie in the afternoon just to keep from going stir crazy.
I hope heās doing better by now and you didnāt have to deal with the traffic, which isnāt good any time during the summer, much less a holiday week!
Yes, the bleeding stopped thankfully. I think now Iām more pissed off that he broke one of my corning ware casseroles (the lid survived). Weāve been using them constantly for most of our marriage. I have to find a replacement on Etsy or eBay and for some reason theyāre highly collectible and expensive. But less than a trip to the emergency vetā¦
Which pattern, the blue cornflower? If I still had my Momās (IIRC, she had several square sizes in that pattern), I would drive down to the Cape (off season, of course!) and give it to you.
I saw a commercial for these weighted blanket jacket things for dogs. Have you ever looked into them? I can try to find the name.
We just saw Inside Out 2 and it was surprisingly good for a kidsā movie. The reclining seats didnāt hurt
Thank you for sharing. Iāve always been very fond of youāyouāre one of my favorite Onionsāand now I just want to give you a long hug.
Iām nearby - just praying my AC doesnāt go AWOL. This last week has been pretty, um, remarkable.
