Tablescape!! Call Martha. …

I’m wondering if any of the plastic dripped down to the bottom of the oven and if so… how do you clean it??

I absentmindedly
set a plastic measuring cup on top of the (on) toaster oven.
It became an abstract art object rather quickly!
Once it cooled, peeled right off looking like a food implement version of Creepy Crawlers or Vac-U-Form. :cowboy_hat_face:

Whoa. That’s a quick trip in the Wayback Machine, Mr. Peabody!

When I was young, my brother put several creepy crawlers into my sister’s and my school lunch sandwiches on April Fool’s Day, with a little note “Ha Ha! April Fool’s!” Even my Mom got a kick out of that one!

I have a friend here in the RV whose mom worked for Mattel when he was a tot in SoCal. He got to play test all the cool stuff before it hit the market as she would bring it home pre-release.
A dream job for a kid’s parents. My family worked for the railroad and steel plant.
Nothing to bring home to play with.

Or things labeled “gluten-free” or “cholesteral free” that couldn’t possibly contain either gluten or cholesterol. Marketing gone off the rails.

“There were no details as to the size of the block, or the type of cheese involved.”

Was it a soft brie? A crumbly cheddar? A rock hard block of super aged Beemster? The public needs to know.

I think we can rule out soft cheese, as they don’t come in blocks. My money’s on Monterey Jack.

“Government cheese”? as in food assistance cheese, maybe.

Government cheese is called processed cheese in Canada, and it’s packaged like Kraft Singles rather than Velveeta.

I think, it was probably a 1 kg cello pack of Cracker Barrel (not related to the American chain resto) or Black Diamond cheese, and being Newfoundland, I would think it was Colby, Marble Cheddar or Medium cheddar. I will update the thread if the type of cheese is disclosed!

Based on pictures I saw Saturday morning, they were very visible to us in New England on Friday night. I was too tired and was in bed by 10:30, so I didn’t look outside to see if I could see them in my complex. Saturday night was too cloudy by us. Maybe a chance to see them tonight…but I don’t see myself going off to a dark place at midnight, so if I can’t see them from home, guess I’ll miss out.

I just found out that it was visible in parts of Brandenburg (the Bundesland surrounding Berlin), and am trying hard to remember what we did Friday night…

Seriously bummed to have missed it, but light pollution in the city would likely have put a damper on them (SWIDT?), and the weather back in the boonz is apparently so abysmal we would’ve been SOL there as well.
