I saved everything larger than my pinky finger. I’ll burn that in my fireplace. I built a heat exchanger for my fire place, we don’t need much heat in the winter and a small fire keeps the house warm enough.
I’m also going to attempt to build an outdoor “rocket stove” to do some outdoor cooking/grillling as soon as it gets a little cooler. I’m hopeful the smaller twigs will burn nicely in it.
Do you use the mesquite to smoke or grill outdoors?
I’m going to attempt to build and cook on an outdoor “rocket stove” made from cinder blocks (this fall). I’ve seen some designs on youtube, that look like something I can duplicate.
I’ll be using some of the smaller mesquite twigs to fuel the “rocket stove”. I am hopeful the mesquite wood will impart some flavor into whatever I am cooking. Sunshine wants me to try hamburgers first, then steaks (if I’m successful).
Cheese, fish…it can be an art!

I LOATHE CenturyLink. I now know what all those sarcastic skits and comedic routines have been about. If you want a snafu, go directly to residental customer service and be told you have to order a medical alert necklace. FFS.
Reviewing a restaurant dish by saying “it was ok but could have been better” says nothing and is pointless. Also if you haven’t been to a restaurant in more than five years your information about its food and service is almost always outdated and generally unhelpful.
As I near 4 years of zero travel, I still think about my favourite places.
I will still encourage friends to head to places I haven’t been able to visit or revisit.
My last trips: Jasper in Feb 2020, Japan in Jan 2020, Montreal in Nov 2019, DC in Oct 2019, Manhattan in Aug 2019, Maui/Oahu/Kauai in May 2019, Tyrol/ Munich in March 2019, I had many wonderful meals. I definitely will point people to those places because that is my last frame of reference.
I haven’t been to Greece since 2007, but if I should ever return, I will have breakfast at on the patio of the St George Lycabettus hotel, where I had breakfast in 2004.
In terms of crappy service, I usually don’t go back. If I like the restaurant and want to go back, I let the manager or owner know. I might post a comment here or there, and I let people know when I had that experience if I tell them about it.
Places have off days.

What’s on my mind? I’m a little obsessed with grab bags from fancy bakeries and coffee shops on the Too Good to Go app.
I ordered 2. Will report back later!
Just went to CVS and found out the new COVID booster isn’t covered by insurance yet (they think it will be by the end of next week), so it’s $190 out of pocket for now. I’m in the Boston area. Just a heads up!
Could be something as simple as a code mismatch glitch. We have CVS Caremark as our Rx program and let me tell you, their formularies and flowcharts seem to have plentiful errors and it’s taken us hours on the phone each time we get some wacky denial rationale.
Like you, I’d heard that insurance or medicaid was supposed to cover it for anyone who wants it, so my assumption is this falls under some mandatory provision of the Affordable Care Act.
It’s a way to get day old baked goods, produce, leftovers or extras from restaurants, stores and bakeries so they don’t throw it out.
I got 2 big cardamom sticky buns and a muffin for $4.51 Cdn today. If they were fresh today, they would have been worth around $15 Cdn.
I already ate one sticky bun.
My 2nd purchase, I was too late. Got there after the bakery closed.
Has anyone been following the “Anthony Oliver” (Chris Lunsford - the name “Anthony Oliver” was adopted as a stage name, in respect for his grandpa) phenomenon?
Despite his notoriety over
Which has the unfortunate whining about welfare people,
He’s got some really good stuff, if you can stand twangy country. I don’t normally like it, it’s not really my genre, but I like this one.

That stinks! I inquired at the local health department about the RSV vax and they have it now for $320. My gp doesn’t have it in their office yet, where I can get it for free. I just finished my hep series, finally. No covid yet, but have been boosted to the max. Ya gotta watch out there!
Thanks for this! That is an unexpected wrinkle. I need to check coverage status before our appointment next week.
Happy to help! I’ve got my appointment rescheduled for now to next Sunday. I am hoping it is worked out with the insurance companies by then!
Just got the RSV and yep, paid for it. I haven’t gotten drug insurance to date because the monthly premiums are about 10x what my generics have cost. Doc office didn’t have RSV. Don’t know if plain old Medicare will eventually cover the Covid booster. Will get it next week regardless. Perhaps I will cave and enroll in Medicare part D next month when the enrollment period starts.
Thanks to your post, I checked with our insurance provider and my husband and I are good to go with our COVID booster appointments. Put my mind at ease to verify coverage under our specific insurance plan.
