Thank you @ccj Yes, Mrs. P is my wife. We order a lot because we like to taste a few things but there are definitely a lot of leftovers. We have the leftovers during the week. Tonight we are going to a Szechuan restaurant that is 45 minutes away, and will order a ridiculous amount of food, so we have leftovers for 2 days to make the trip worthwhile. Mrs. P will probably not have to cook for the whole week with all of this weekend’s leftovers
Emglow 101 we live down the hill from Mt shasta east of Redding. I am not aware of that place. Is it new? It’s nice to head up there on a hot day down below.
Opened 3 months ago .
Geez - talk about adding insult to injury! Hope things improve.
Blargh. I am sorry that you experienced such harsh treatment from that airline. Hope the rest of your trip goes much more smoothly, with many delicious meals you and your husband can look forward to enjoying.
Does it have a name?
The Garden Tap . Mt Shasta
Yes, hope that today makes up for yesterday.
Thanks everyone. @meatn3 Yeah I hoped sometimes later I would find this event amusing. When I read that people were experiencing the same rudeness in Thailand with the same company, it’s a corporate culture than problem with Korean people.
Personally I have never used Ryan. I tried to read on Tripadvisor about this airline company, somebody commented this company made Ryan actually looked nice. Also, I find the fact that airline asked to see a proof of the next air ticket leaving Hong Kong was quite shocking . I wasn’t sure they have the right to be the immigration police.
Chopped Things In a Bowl seems to be my standard lately.
Well, except the other night we stopped at Pret and i paid too much for their Chopped Things in a Box to sneak into a movie theater for dinner (note to self: work on eating lentils in the dark with a fork skills) in retrospect i have had better ideas
Very green Chopped Things in a Bowl with kimchi, sugar snap peas, celery, cucumber, greens, kimchi vinaigrette. My favorite store brand (mother in law’s vegan kimchi) was on sale and i ran out of my own
Finally starting to get decent tomatoes as featured in yet another CTB meal
And made a big panzanela with some to bring to a gathering the other day. I really like it with basalmic vinaigrette but it (obviously) stains the bread which annoyed me. I layered it in the bowl and mixed just before we ate
Also the good news/bad news is the market near me now carries Coconut Bliss aka the best vegan ice cream ever which i can actually get home before it melts, the dark chocolate is probably my favorite, I’m not a fan of chunks of things in my ice cream
Both of you are lucky to have the same hobby
Bill and I were into collecting.
He one to eat but we were limited bec of his diet,
We flew to Carmel to look for sculptures and even to Portland for trees and shrubs.
So, good eating!
Just got back to Beijing yesterday, and everytime we travel I’m afraid something like this will happen. I don’t know what I would do if I was alone. Everyone loves the Mandarin-speaking Pakistani American girl (my daughter) and it gets us out of a lot of jams.
Hope the rest of your trip goes smoothly!
Probably not the best meal for a hot day, but the tummy wants what the tummy wants. And central A/C certainly helps.
Roast chicken, mashed sour cream potatoes, and peas and carrots.
Wine.
We had drinks at the neighbors’ and returned home for a quickie dinner after noshing on cheese, crackers, and olives. TJ’s chicken cilantro wontons and some crappy frozen pork egg rolls from Aldi, plus leftover sliced cukes repurposed as salad.
There was definitely wine.
That chicken is perfection.
I tried those egg rolls a few months ago. Took 1 bite and just pitched them out.
Your chicken always looks beautiful. Do you baste frequently? Use a magical rub? Inquiring minds and hungry tummies want to know!
We had our monthly feast at Chengdu 1 Palace, with the PSTOF(ood) and PSTOL(eftovers) We have enough leftovers for 2 more dinners.
We ordered the always awesome dishes of hot and spicy lobster, hot and spicy jumbo prawns, spicy lamb stir fry, crispy spicy chicken ding, ants climbing a tree, and spicy baby wontons in chili oil. We had them remove the cilantro from the lobster and prawn dishes, since we don’t like cilantro, and had them add extra ginger and spicy crunchy celery. It all went great with a 2013 Bergevin Lane Columbia Valley cabernet. This will probably be my last WFD post this week since we have enough leftovers from this weekend to last us all week. Mrs. P can focus on having her hair highlighted, and nails manicured, and gardening this week
Yummmm
@paryzer "Mrs. P can focus on having her hair highlighted, and nails manicured, and gardening this week.
I obviously need to read your post more carefully. Mrs. P has more going for her than meets the plate-shot.
