What's for Dinner #125 - the Fresh Start Edition - January 2026

My PIC made fabulous MR bacon cheeseburgers for us with TJ‘s chuck & brisket patties, thick-sliced bacon, ultra sharp American, sliced red onion, shredded iceberg, Duke’s, Heinz, and Grillo’s pickle slices on toasted sesame buns.

Side of perfectly crispy LW fries with kewpie & Heinz. Mexicoke to drank with.

And I didn’t have to lift a damn finger (not that I could) :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Focaccia Genovese. Messed with the recipe. Of course. I’m going to serve along side with skirt steak and a salad. Cheers.

That looks pretty close to what she said she put in it. Smoked brisket, smoked pork chops, potatoes and corn (ithink other veggies)

It was so nice to have a full belly of something like this on a chilly evening

Tonight was individual pizzas baked in a beehive oven, and strawberries with fresh local berries

I wanted potato with the nice black cod that I would batter and shallow fry. French fries? Mash? How about hash browns. I’ve had a hard time getting them to work out in the past. Would the air fryer work? It did, sort of. They didn’t completely cook after more than 10 minutes, so I cranked up the broiler to finish them. Crisp and lacy! The coating slid off of the fish, no worries.

Same here, Sasha……and not at all weird! I use Pyrex bowls with lids, and get some odd satisfaction from moving the remaining contents of, say, a 4 cup bowl to a two cup bowl, as I did with pineapple this morning..

Very cool. Love that first one with the moon!

I do the exact same thing and find it ridiculously satisfying. My PIC makes fun of it, but I don’t care.

We just don’t have a lot of real estate in our fridge, and it helps with the eternal game of Tetris.

I had dinner at a friend’s last night – split pea soup, cheese, and my homemade sourdough. Too much red wine. Lots of Taboo. Good times.

A Turkey Chili pull from the downstairs freezer when I didn’t have a plan for dinner after the Patriots whomped the Texans.

Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onion for toppings.

Wine as the side dish.

And GO PATRIOTS!!!

Sssspicy Sssssunday @casa lingua: another rendition of chicken chile verde.

A “collaborative” production with my PIC doing most of the labor, while I was giving instructions

We roasted 2 poblanos, 2 lemon drops, 2 Cubanelles, several hatch chilies, a whole head of garlic, and well over a pound of tomatillos, all of which went into the food processor, along with one and a half bunches of cilantro (stems and all), and 4 fresh garlic cloves.

Added that to about 1.5 quarts of chicken stock I made a while ago., the juice of two limes, and a bunch of shredded roti chicken.

Had that over rice with sliced avocado, sour cream, grated cotija, and MOAR Sinatra.

Kicky, fresh, tasty & light. And lotsa leftovers
