I’ve only ordered Schupfnudeln in Germany.

I have made Gnudi, without potato. I have not made Gnocchi from scratch yet.

Tonight’s dinner was an early mini Thanksgiving dinner. Sunshine is having surgery this coming Friday and I don’t think she’ll be ready for a heavy Thanksgiving meal, so I’m going to postpone it for a week or so.

Sunshine was a bit disappointed, so I threw together a “Pre-Thanksgiving” mini-meal. Leftover turkey, red potatoes, corn, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy.

I’m already dreaming of chanterelle season in Germany next summer :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes:

Here, autumn is chanterelle season. Just in time for Thanksgiving!

Looks great. Better yet when eaten beachside! I haven’t gotten fried chicken at a Publix, but I’m always pleasantly surprised when a grocery store does nice fried chicken.

Beach side fried chicken would have been great! But we wimped out and had it on the lanai. I remember from the last time I was here, many years ago, that it was excellent, give it a try when you’re in the mood. I wish we had grocery store fried chicken this good back in Toronto.

Fried chicken on the lanai would work for me, too. I wouldn’t quibble as the outside temperature here in New England is already freezing. So glad you enjoyed!

The weather here has been almost perfect, only the first day that we landed was unusually chilly, the rest of the time has been spectacular. The weather today in T.O is 0 degrees C and miserable :sob:

You got the jump on everyone else, and it looks great! I hope her surgery goes swimmingly and she’s up and about very soon!

When I worked up in Newburyport, MA, I’d go to Shaw’s on occasion specifically for fried chicken for lunch. SO good!

Both our local Giant and Weis get good reviews for their fried chicken. We’ve yet to try it, but we totally should.

It’s been years, but Giant Eagle in Western PA used to make decent fried chicken. If memory serves, you sometimes get out to the Pittsburgh area? But of course the Three Rivers are not the seaside (as scenic as some stretches can be). :squinting_face_with_tongue:
