What's For Dinner #122 - the Daylight Slips Away Edition - September 2025

Got my new driver’s license today , and didn’t even have to spend the entire afternoon at the DMV! And I bumped into a GF I hadn’t seen in eons, as she had just returned from several months in Korea.

In not-so-great news I found that my two bags of hatch chiles had started molding — the likely culprit being their vicinity to the bananas on the kitchen sill, as I hadn’t had them all that long. That’s $10 for the garbage :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

My PIC and I scooted to the brewery for a sunshine Kölsch in lieu of our afternoon coffee, after which I started preparing tonight’s dinner: Sichuan green beans with pork à la SE-ish.

The beans charred nicely under the broiler, but I think next time I’ll try doing them in the air-fryer. The pork / seasoning mix was tasty, and the level of mala acceptable, but we still ended up adding a splash of light soy sauce & more dried chile peppers. We had the beans with some of the rice that came with last night’s Indian food.
