Shiitake Mushroom Frittata with Pecorino Romano based on a CI recipe - frittata started on the stove and finished in the oven and made with eggs, shiitake, milk, scallions, sherry vinegar and pecorino
Thank you, you should see her photo in the book!
It’s Trader Joe’s whole wheat pita, spritzed with olive oil after spreading the inside with the meat mixture, and baked at 400° for about 10-15 minutes on each side.
Lazy but yummy dinner. Soft tofu with toppings and sauce (coriander, spring onions, fried shallots, etc…) Bowl of rice… DINNER ![]()
Nice! One of my favorite quick, easy & delish dinners involves soft or silken tofu just nuked with a simple sauce of oyster sauce, chili sauce, soy sauce, scalding hot peanut oil, and TPSTOS&C ![]()
Made Recipe Tin Eats’ mushroom pasta with maitakes and crimini at my sister’s last night, with a little fresh thyme and plenty of butter, no cream, and lots of Parm Regg. Also, garlic bread with a ton of garlic i sauteed for a minute, and TJ’s herby parm butter and then more Parm.
BEAUTIFUL! love making this dish, but your presentation is stunning.
i lurrrve monkfish, and never see it here in San Francisco fishmongers…
Readily available in NYC, and a good thing, too, because I also love it.
THANK you ! I really just pile loads of things on the top, but it is generally pretty. I get a block every week from the market so try to play around with toppings. Sometimes japanese, sometimes chinese. Any ideas welcome ![]()
A bit south of San Francisco proper. Hankook Market in Sunnyvale always has Monkfish in the round on ice. Usually about $3/lb.
thanks! that’s almost an hour away from me, but good to know!
Tonight I made spinach-cheese manicotti with chicken Italian sausage ragu with ground fennel, RPF and black olives and eggplant Parm in a simple marinara. Side of crispy roasted Brussels.
Using up stuff from the fridge and freezer, so a stir fry of the roasted butternut squash and some smoked tofu with scallions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, and a mix of ground cumin, fennel, Sichuan peppercorns, and pequin chiles over noodles and bok choy. Some chile oil over the whole thing. Perfect for this gray, rainy day.
I might have seen it at BBW and Tokyo Fish, in Berkeley.
To start my 3-day weekend: a shaved steak cheesesteak sandwich on a lightly toasted Wegmans club roll (perfect sandwich size for me) with melted American cheese and caramelized onions.
Though I had L-W frozen fries in the freezer. I didn’t. So the onions were my veg.
There was wine.
Thin crust pizza baked in a 12" pan – something about the ratio of sauce to other with this one hits a home-run for me. Mozz and parm, pepperoni, black olives, and pickled peppers. On the side, salad greens in vinaigrette.
That really looks delicious!
Thank you! What can I say, except I
 pizza!
