I’m sorry. Hoping for the best possible outcome.

I brought some of the beef my FIL gifted us over to a friend earlier this week to help her ends meet, and she cooked a pot roast and brought it over tonight for joint dinner. I made a cheese plate, green salad, rice, and heated up some olive fougasse. The kids had TJ’s mint chip ice cream with hot fudge. Plenty of red wine. Maybe too much. What a week! Just one more week until school starts for us.

Pan-roasted chicken thighs with garden veg: scallion-potato gratin, roasted green beans, cukes in vinaigrette, herbed green- sauce.

If anyone needs dessert (doubtful), there’s a freshly baked blackberry tart.

My kind of meal. So nice to see the use of actual carrots instead of the “baby carrots” that are really just old carrots whittled down.

Are people using those ? I always thought these were just as snacks for some kids

Meatballs with a saffron and almond sauce

What I made was based on this recipe

I used sliced almonds and Riesling.

Plain meatballs

Roasted homegrown potatoes

Corn on the cob, braised green beans with basil .

Apple crisp and Haagen Daz vanilla bean ice cream for one DC, plain apple crisp for the other.

I watch a lot of food reviews on YouTube and some buffets just steam them and try to pass them off as a side dish. I wouldn’t trust that buffet.

Oh, my! This was delicious and just what I hoped for. Fruit was perfection. Cottage cheese and fruit “salad”
FYI yesterday when I posted my rendition of Milanese, I also used my rendition of the spelling. I figured it out too late to edit. Now it will live here forever. I realize there are worse things people are dealing with, but…………

I was craving a big salad. Gold Nugget tomatoes, avocado, pickled beets, garbanzos, red onion on a bed of interesting mixed greens from the Crescent City farmers market. Ranch and camboloza dressing. There will be a fig for dessert.
