I haven’t had lunch yet, and my mouth just watered looking at that gorgeous paella!

Looks like the -ish got lost in the edit.

Last night - BF made us dumplings, 3 ways - well, two batches were boiled, 1 pan-fried, three different sauces. All were pork/ginger/cabbage. All were scrumptious!

It was good, different, but nothing special. I’ve made it before from a recipe I referred to as crispy sour cream and chive tenders, which I apparently didn’t bookmark and can no longer find on google. Hence the NYT recipe. I think they would be better as tenders with a dip, ranch maybe. I also have millions of chicken recipes bookmarked.

Take out from my local Korean sushi joint.
I got the Lola bento box with salmon teriyaki and an order of veg gyoza. Very generous amount of food and very tasty for only $25! Saving almost half for tomorrow’s lunch, except the miso soup and salad.
I might even put an egg on it  Quite a bit of packaging, but I can reuse most of it for leftover food storage.

Dinner tonight was a homemade panzanella with fresh organic veggies from my CSA and croutons that I made myself. Much tastier than lunch.

Those falafel look very legit. I still remember the (Turkish-style) falafel I had on my one and only trip to Berlin. In 1989. (I can barely remember what I did this morning, but some things stay with you.)

You should revisit the city. A lot has changed in the meantime, and I’d love to show you around

Busy day food shopping. I picked up a peck of green beans each for me and my friend at the farmers market to be blanched and frozen, then hit Sam’s for my beloved golden kiwi & snacking cheese for my dude.

I also grabbed a couple more bags of hatch chiles that I roasted and peeled and that’ll go in the freezer once I figure out a better way to separate them. Seems wasteful to use separate bags for smaller amounts.

I’d been drawing a total blank on dinner tonight until I remembered our recent delivery from a local farm, which included loose “hot” (not really) Italian sausage. It had been a while since I made pasta, and we also had some tomatoes to use up. I made an almost entirely local meal of pasta with meat sauce

The last of those fun fusilli lunghi bucati with a sauce of local shallots & garlic, grated tomatoes, hot sausage, zuke & peppers, basil from my friend’s garden.

The only non-local ingredients were two diced hatch chili peppers, tomato paste, a CA red, and the pasta, of course.

Arugula with lemon dressing (citrus oil, lemon juice, lemon zest) & parm on the side.

We finished the bottle of that fabulous red wine with the pasta, much to my PIC’s surprise, as I don’t generally drink red wine. This was luscious :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I couldn’t make up my mind what to fix for dinner tonight and finally 5 p.m. rolled around.

Me: So what should I make for dinner tonight.
Him: I don’t know
Me: How about tacos/burritos
Him: Nah
Me: Well, I’ve got one of those Smithfield black pepper/Asiago marinated pork loins in the fridge. Maybe a couple vegs to go with it. (I knew darn well this was the last thing either one of us wanted)
Him: I don’t know. What do you want.
Me: How about some beef, bean and cheese nachos.
Him: OK, that sounds good.
Me: it’s 5:05. Are you ready for a drink?
Him: Yes.:slightly_smiling_face:

Costco spring rolls? Not sure as my dil sent them home with me in a zip lock after my last visit. Whatever, they were delicious.

I had a similar conversation with my PIC both last night & this morning about dinner :joy:

I should! I was hanging out with a band I was friendly with while they toured Germany, and I also wanted a piece of the wall. I was very impressed by how cool everyone was at the clubs, dancing three feet apart without making eye contact. If you’ve seen the Sprockets sketch on SNL, it was pretty much that.

Alaska cod tacos, it’s Tuesday. Cabbage slaw and chipotle tartar sauce. Dessert will be Hug Me Hazelnut Truffle ice cream from the Van Leeuwen 5 Love Languages collection.

We eat a LOT of fish…(from 2 summer fishing trips to Sitka), and was going to cook up a piece of halibut, but I could see that my wife was not entirely enthusiastic. So…it’s an experiment night. Thawed 3 chicken thighs, gathered up some garden veggies, some baby potatoes…made a seasoning mixture, and it’s going to be a sheet pan dinner.

The halibut will thaw in the fridge, and we will have it tomorrow.
