What's for Dinner #119 - the Strawberry Edition! - June 2025

I have a pair of Hoka Gaviota 5s that I purchased in September. Their regular width seems closer to a wide width. I found I was getting a bit of ankle pain after really long walks (8 miles or longer) that I didn’t have if I wore ASICs sneakers, or Birkenstock boots or sandals. I had my right ankle X-rayed in March because of ongoing intermittent pain for a few months, without an injury that I could recall. Now I wonder if the Hoka fit wasn’t suiting me and contributing.

Of course some brands and models of running shoes work better for some people than others.

I switched back to buying ASICs GT 2000s after my one pair of Hokas. The Hokas have become a pair of gardening shoes now.
