Such a clever idea to grate the meatloaf!
A galâs gotta do what a galâs gotta do. Plus what her tastebuds and tummy says to do!
I roasted two chickens this week to make stock from the bones (with veg). There is leftover chicken meat aplenty. Tonightâs WFD was chicken Caesar salad with chicharrones.
Sometimes, lazy is good!
We enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Drewâs in Keyport, NJ, including melt in your mouth smoked beef cheeks sope with a spicy slaw; BBQ shrimp; scallops with a pea risotto; veal porterhouse smothered in crawfish and mushrooms; praline pork belly; Cajun crawfish rice balls; fried calamari; chocolate macadamia bread pudding for dessert. It all went great with a couple of excellent red blends.
Perfect sear!
I made chicken salad salad. I blame @mig. Chicken breast, yogurt, mayo, chives, celery, toasted pecans, dill, parsley, dill pickles, honey, s&p, and celery salt. White balsamic and oo on the lettuce and tomatoes. Some croutons for crunch.
Gloomy rainy Saturday. Calls for my winter go to .
Potato , onion , bacon , cabbage , casserole . Added chicken Boudin sausge . Filled my plate before the photo .
Pizza soon??
Pad Mama - a noodle stir fry using Mama instant noodles. I followed Pailinâs recipe for the most part but omitted the cabbage and carrots because I didnât have any.
They look like deviled eggs to me
@honkman â do you remember what they charged for those?
I spent a LOT of time yesterday procrastinating on writing up a set list for an 80th bday party by doing everything but â getting travel-sized stuff for our Berlin trip, contacting our various friends & acquaintances in Berlin, Germany, and beyond for possible get-togethers, and watching cat videos Itâs hands down my least favorite thing about being a musician.
Our birthday boy and my band had hoped for a nice, warm spring evening so we could set up on the patio instead of the alternative: a very small & awkward living room, with an existing piano facing a wall. Alas, the weather goddesses did not want to play along.
It was around 50ËF when we started playing at 7pm, but Iâll have to give credit where credit was due: the chilly temps did not stop the lively crowd from dancing outside. In fact, the mood was so boisterous our host FACE-PLANTED into a bush near the patio, leaving his forehead and nose bloody TBH I saw that coming a mile away. We kept playing, of course
Once he was all gauzed & taped up he went right at it again, albeit a little more carefully. Phew!
We were done at 10pm (44ËF) and got outta there pretty quickly, as guests were clearing out. Most of the food I tried from the sizable buffet was very, very salty âgrilled chicken, ham, various salads, bread & cheeses, not to mention deviled eggs! They seem to be following me everywhere these days, like creepy Facebook ads
My sax crashed with us & left early this AM. Looking forward to a quiet night at home today
Beautiful plate of food!
Yup, they definitely are! But HB was faster for me to type with my finger on my phone. Technically, they are still HBâd.
I would eat them while you were debating the finer points of whether or not they are still HBâdđ
I donât see why watching cat videos isnât a MOST favorite thing for a musician! Relaxing, funny, and gets you in a good frame of mind to create!
The deviled eggs look wonderfulâŚbut were even they too salty? (And âtoo saltyâ for you is a salt bomb for the rest if us!)
Glad the host of the party enjoyed his own partyâŚalthough explaining his bruised up face on Monday at work ought to be interesting.
The cool kidz refer to them as âDEs,â which is just as fast to type
PS: Cat videos* will cure whatever ails you.
PPS: Thatâs a place holder pic of my own DEs I made on Easter Sunday, as I didnât have the time or wherewithal** to take any photos of last nightâs spread And yes â salty AF
PPPS: I know things are different here in the US of A, but I really, REALLY hope the 80yr old no longer has to work
*And tacos, of course. Ideally, watching cat videos while eating tacos.
**âwherewithalâ has only one L. I learned something new today.
