We did a little food shopping before leaving Philly early afternoon: a chonk each of quadrella di bufala and Goat Rodeo Bamboozled, a few slices of porchetta & a baguette from DiBruno’s, two more bottles of that fantastic buttermilk ranch dressing at Sprouts, and another bottle of the equally fantastic Vietnamese kumquat hot sauce at Ba Le Bakery, where we also grabbed two banh mi (extra paté, extra pickled veg, extra delish!) for the road. One would’ve been plenty, so we have another left for tomorrow’s lunch or dinner. Our favorite bakery’s stand at the FM was already sold out of everything, so no homadama for us to take home this time (we may still have one in the freezer).
Monkey boy was mighty happy to see us, as evidenced by several minutes of violent head-butting , and — as much fun as we had eating most of the foods & catching up with our friends — it’s kinda nice to be home.
Ran a coupla loads of laundry & had a very simple Abendbrot with the goodies we’d brought back, plus a salad bc I was craving a proper one
