Surprising there is no onion or tomato for the curry base – those would bulk it up without need for cornstarch.

I agree - especially the onion.

Day 3 of DH’s lo-fiber prep. Steak and Japanese fried rice for him (no scallions and I strained out the garlic). For me, a boatload of sautéed zucchini, onions, and shrooms on the side.

I actually have four pepper mills on hand - one with a 5 peppercorn blend which is my regular pepper, one with black pepper because Mr Bean is the kind of person who dumps pepper on most things without tasting them, the Sichuan pepper mill and one large mill for when I need large quantities at one time. :arrow_down_small:

I may have to add one for white peppercorns.

How many days total for the prep? Hang in there!

I saw your post about the chicken with ginger scallion sauce and thought this sounded similar but not too similar to be too much. (I saved your recipe)

It depends. If I’ve made something that needs something extra no but is starting from scratch I may if I remember.

I have a disposable and really like having fresh available easily.

That’s a great idea. I should get a couple more smaller pepper mills for my white and red peppercorns, respectively!

Also check out the second recipe with warm-spiced chicken and coconut in the scallion sauce. Sounds good to me.

Made some chicken cordon bleu meatballs balls with sweet potato fries and veggies at both house. Forgot pictures. D’oh!
Came home later than normal to a puppy whose sore tummy messed up my floor. Cleaned it up before I made myself a bunwich. Put the bun in the toaster and walked away. Set off the smoke alarm. I rent out the suite in my basement to a lovely family. Woke up the three month old baby with the alarm. Feel like an a**.
I’m ready for tomorrow.

8 days. I realized a few years ago during my own prep that I didn’t really give enough thought to it. Someone should write a book: How to Eat Well While Being Deprived of all Veggies, Fruits, and Whole Grains, and How - at the Same Time - Not to Drag Down Your Family With You at Mealtime. By the time we come up with a great system, we’ll be too old for C-scopes.

Wow, that’s over a week! I get the max 3-day clear liquids every year for the endos. I 'm used to it now. Like I said, hang in there!

You can’t have too many pepper mills - or types of pepper to fill them.

Another meal from the freezer… Sausage Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and peas. Whenever, I see the one pound rolls of sausage on clearance, I grab them and into the freezer. This meatloaf is one of those “I don’t know what to cook, tonight” meals. I seem to make it a lot.

Thank you! We’ve had an outdoor grilling ban during the summer months for the last few years, and I’ve had to learn how to cook a steak on the stove and finish it in the oven. It’s snowing tonight, and I really didn’t feel like cooking outdoors, so the effort has paid off.
