Oooh! Oooh! Oooh! Is that a caraway rye I spy???

I roasted a bunch of cherry tomatoes that were getting wrinkly on the windowsill, not before going thru the trouble of peeling them (I prefer a smooth sauce), which meant they were halfway cooked before I even put them in the oven at 400 with some garlic, OO & oregano, but they turned out nicely anyway. Started the sauce with melting a few anchovies, then sweating a finely diced red shallot, toasting a small blob of tomato paste & deglazing the pot with open vinho verde. I then added the roasted, blended tomatoes & garlic, a healthy helping of capers, then had the brilliant idea to add a few spoons of artichoke pesto, which gave the whole thing a bit more heft. Finished the chitarra in the sawce and added Thai basil at the end.

A showering of parm reg on top. Delectable.

Tonight’s SALAD was iceberg, cukes, yellow pepper, avocado, corn, and a little tuna for protein, all tossed with augmented buttermilk ranch — almost a meal on its own, and TPSTOL for tomorrow’s lunch (and then some!).

I phoned it in today. Early morning meeting with potential clients and taking the new puppy to the vet. Not potential clients anymore. I start with them Monday! Make-your-own falafel pitas, broccoli tots made with the leftover lemon tahini dressing from the other day and a not shown Fattoush salad.

Came home and took the little man to the dog park. Caught up on my reality TV junk until PIC came home. Convinced him to take me for beef tartare at our fave hotel downtown. We each had our own. I don’t share that tartare. Then DQ on the way home for blizzards, a gummy and an early bed time.

I made a big batch of vegan, gf fire-roasted tomato bisque for a teacher lunch tomorrow (sending in optional half and half and cheddar Goldfish toppers for those who wish). So while I was at it I made a separate big batch for us. The canned soup the other night didn’t quite cut it. :upside_down_face:

I floated ravioli (mushroom-cheese in my case) in each bowl and finished with a drizzle of olive oil and grated Parm. Really good!

Green salad to start:

For the teachers:

And dinner:

I carelessly melted the bottom of my Instant Pot again on the stovetop :woman_facepalming:t2::melting_face:

Oops, finger slipped. Can I undelete?

Well broccoli is technically a flower…
My client probably checked them out before she fed them to the kids. She knows it’s my vice.

You are awesome, and fast! Thank you.

I melted my Thermapen on my burner last week. Then, the next day, I boiled a Tupperware lid I had misplaced. It had been hiding under my saucepan’s lid.

I dropped my Thermapen in the kitchen a few months back and the sharp probe tip dug itself into our yellow pine floors. It was not salvageable. They did not help me out with a replacement so I just went with the cheaper yet satisfactory OXO instead.

Any chance that oval platter is by potter Jeremy Ayers? I have one that is round and extremely similar! Might be a coincidence. But it’s really similar to his aesthetic.

Mine surprising still works. It looks like the Freddy Krueger of thermapens.
