Our go-to pepperoni and olive pan pizza, with a layer of homemade pesto and two cheezes. Served with salad greens in vinaigrette.
Thanks, my own creation. Probably not original.
Windy, rainy, cold. Chili beans from the freezer, onions, sharp cheddar, pickles jalapenos. Avocado, radish toast. Made blondies today with craisins and toffee pecans.
BF heated up TJs chicken soup dumplings and Korean kimbap for me tonight. Couldn’t finish the kimbap, but i managed to slurp down all the dumplings.
Some recent throw-togethers.
Tonight, dumpling “salad” if you will – steamed broccoli and kimchi mandu tossed with a “dressing” aka dumpling sauce composed of soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, vinegar, and I’m glad I held off on the chilli crisp because the mandu were spicy!
Sampled a bit of the char siu and roast duck I picked up in Chinatown earlier before freezing the rest.
.
Yesterday, lamb I had half-cooked who knows when and frozen, turned into a quick Lamb Korma with rice.
Made onion raita and added some millet papad for crunch.
.
Late night kathi roll with Bihari kabab excavated from the freezer, and an anda paratha made from a tortilla. Plus quick-pickled onions and zhoug.
.
Lleftover green curry salmon enhanced with broccoli over rice.
.
And a surprise last piece of that 100 layer lasagne that I found when I was making freezer space for things that I need to freeze in the next few days before travel. What a find that was!
Messy photo of a quick Shakshuka with chickpeas, roasted red bell peppers, crushed tomatoes, feta, garlic, coriander, smoked and hot paprika, cumin, red pepper flakes, mint and an egg
I like the way you think! If this board had an award for reimagining ingredients into an entirely new dish, I say it’s you for the win.
Aw, shucks (and thanks!)
Spinach quiche. I never can get it just like my mother’s but I’m getting closer.
I do not care for butternut squash at all - in any form.
Pray for me, as I am eating the rest of the soup tonight. Gonna throw some hot curry powder into it and hope for the best.
Chili crisp has saved a mediocre meal or two here! (Including Cup o’Ramen during the hurricane).
I made @PedroPero’s mom’s braised beef with orzo. I followed some of the method and spicing found here. Yummy, cozy, good.
Your plating is beautiful! And I’ll bet the stew tasted as good as it looks.
Yum .
I love this recipe so much:
I subbed the last of the pickled chiles, carrots, and shallot in for the orange it calls for to garnish.
That sounds really good. I need an excuse to use this jar that I bought. Do you think it would work as a substitute? I’m not big on anchovies.
Lentil soup ala Instant Pot with andouille… Lately this is the kind of thing I want to cook & eat a rather brown looking bowl, but very tasty & comforting…
You absolutely could! The anchovies are not that noticeable, but if they aren’t your thing then there’s no reason to use them. I swap lime for the orange in this recipe all the time too.
Last minute appt. with the PCP, because they decided they wanted a follow-up with me even though they have everything on the portal from the hospital. Sat there in the waiting room well past my 11 a.m. time that they squeezed me in to because of a bunch of sick people needing to be seen. How DARE they? So I paid $25 office visit co-pay for the doctor to ask me how I was doing, how was the surgery(ies), any problems, how is my breathing, any more chest pain, blah blah blah. :::Sigh::: Really could have done this by phone.
Made a power run up to south Nashua to get a GC for my nephew, and lookie here! Trader Joe’s is in the same strip mall! Hadn’t been there in awhile, but I needed their #2 coffee filters. $60 later…
Worked on my laptop this afternoon. Made a quick Asian-style marinade for a b/s chicken breast (garlic, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup…hey, it needed a thickener!.., dry sherry, brown sugar, sesame oil, Sriracha) and cooked it in a skillet when I needed it.
Lettuce, shredded carrots, red bell pepper, Sunsweet cherry tomatoes and the chicken, drizzled with Kewpie Deep Roasted Sesame dressing/marinade which I bought because I’d seen some good reviews. Meh. Only fair.
So overall, not bad, but not a repeat. It did fill me up.
Guess what I had to drink?
