Yeah, I’m a bit behind John but hoping to close the gap.
I think I have the better of him in GF pies though.
Of course, that’s because he hasn’t tried yet.

I made my own pizza crusts when I first moved out on my own and they were pretty good for a novice cook. Especially since I can’t bake to save my life Most of the pizzas I was making called for a 9" crust but I can’t eat an entire pizza that size and I find already made pizza crusts don’t freeze too well. So I gave up and I now use naan or a pita or any round shaped baked good I happen to have handy. It’s not the same as a homemade pizza crust but it will have to do. I should really find out if pizza pans come in smaller sizes…
I gotta say, I was perfectly happy (as was my family) with naan and other flatbreads as crusts. They make great pizzas.
Even now that i make doughs, it’s not unusual for us to say, heck, let’s do a supermarket flatbread (whatever it might be).
Or, if we’re in the mood for a crackery crust, I’ll butter both sides of a big, store-bought flour tortilla and use that.

I just moved his post over to 111.
Right on! Deleted my post.
Gracias!
Me, too. I have actually come to really like naan pizzas, particularly with a lot of cheese.

hmm, may have to give that place another shot, we were disappointed in our dinner there, but that was a long time ago now. looks great!
Oh, that makes me want Kimchi Bibim Guksu (Spicy Cold Noodles with Kimchi).
May be I can grab a Cuc from work this Afternoon
i also added some gochugaru for a little sweetness to the sauce. i think i’m going to make it again tonight at my sister’s - adding egg for sure!
I bet some pickled Component would amp it up as well.
I often use Zha Cai ( 榨菜 ) when doing Chineseish cold Noodles cause I like that tingly Burn
(sorry - i moved my post to the new Oct. thread.)
Just curious - what didn’t you like during your visit(s) !
uneven, some good, some not so good. here’s my review from 12/23:
My local suggestions: BeLoved Asheville, Manna, Southern Smoke Foundation (assists food&bev service industry workers), Greenworks (cleanup), Asheville City Schools Foundation, WNC Diaper Bank, Pisgah Legal, ABCCM, United Way Hands on Buncombe. Isaac Dickson Elementary PTO:
The owners of Miyako House (College St.) yesterday were feeding people with food they cooked in their own home and trucked over to their restaurant downtown in 8 to 10 trips. It could be weeks or even months before water is restored to their business. We’ve had near total devastation of our water system, and the restaurants (among other things) can’t open. The generosity and care for people in crisis at their own expense is mind blowing. I couldn’t find a way to buy gift cards online directly from them though.
Other restaurants that are feeding people for free include Louella’s, Sunny Point, Regina’s (I think), and so many more. Any restaurant in West Asheville could definitely use the support of a gift card (my self-interested suggestion because I want them to survive!).
World Central Kitchen is also here feeding people (shockingly tasty).
It’s Jose, I can’t imagine it not being tasty. The devastation is heartbreaking. I’m so glad your family made it through. I could (and have) lived without power but I can’t imagine living without water. One of the benefits of living in the country with creeks and springs on my property, I’ll never be without water.
Thank you!
