The owners of Miyako House (College St.) yesterday were feeding people with food they cooked in their own home and trucked over to their restaurant downtown in 8 to 10 trips. It could be weeks or even months before water is restored to their business. We’ve had near total devastation of our water system, and the restaurants (among other things) can’t open. The generosity and care for people in crisis at their own expense is mind blowing. I couldn’t find a way to buy gift cards online directly from them though.
Other restaurants that are feeding people for free include Louella’s, Sunny Point, Regina’s (I think), and so many more. Any restaurant in West Asheville could definitely use the support of a gift card (my self-interested suggestion because I want them to survive!).
World Central Kitchen is also here feeding people (shockingly tasty).
