What's For Dinner #110 - the Earth, Wind & Fire Edition - September 2024

I believe today was the first day since we arrived that the sun didn’t shine. Wut! We want our money back, Lebowski!

My dude had yet another interview for a podcast this morning, which unfortunately started at 9am and was impossible to sleep thru . I sorely regretted staying up till 3am reading. Oy

The weather didn’t particularly motivate us to venture much further than the Sprouts market down the road, where we picked up SALAD fixins (gem lettuce, wild red arugula, radishes), and a lobster bisque to add to tonight’s dinner. I made a Cajun shrimp salad with half an avocado, finely diced celery, a homegrown long red pepper that turned out to pack a fiery punch, fresh parsley, a lil crème fraiche, a touch of mayo, a squeeze o’catsup :scream: :upside_down_face:, a squirt of lemon, and Penzey’s Cajun seasoning.

My PIC pronounced it my best rendition of a shrimp salad so far. Noice

The bisque was fairly rich and — contrary to honkman’s dismissive review of it — had a pronounced lobster flavor & and even some teeny tiny lobster bits

All it needed was a lil s&p and a splash of sherry that we’d brought to Philly after all, @Amandarama . Leftover salad from last night’s dinner for something greener than the celery & avocado

A crustacean-heavy meal, like seemingly many other’s tonight.
