Hosting my FIL from the Midwest. Tonight I made lightly dredged pan-fried chicken cutlets, capellini alla crudaiola, cucumbers vinaigrette, and steamed fresh California mix with brown butter, toasted almond slivers, and minced onion.

Leftover-palooza. Salmon chowder with the addition of chili shrimp. Chive and tarragon biscuits with herb butter. Summer slaw from the garden.

The spicy shrimp added to the chowder was a hit - will plan on this for future renditions.

We enjoyed another outstanding dinner at Drew’s Bayshore Bistro in Keyport, NJ, including humongous crispy panko crusted soft shell crabs with french fries; spicy marsala shrimp; Jersey tomato panzanella salad; calamari. It all went great with our favorite red blend and an excellent cabernet.

I mentioned to Sunshine that you were making pizza and did she want to see it when you posted the pic. A quick “yes” was the answer, along with “Now, I want pizza”.

So I did some digging in the freezer as I remembered freezing some Black Olive and Onion pizza from a previous night. I heated up same and my Sunshine was content.

Dry-fried cauliflower, very nice!

And my first crack at shrimp with lobster sauce. I have notes. Next time will be better (but this time was okay).

Pizza Saturday. The first pie is zucchini blossoms from the garden . Stuffed with , Ricotta , Pecorino , Agostino Recca anchovies , chopped blossoms . Sliced small zucchini from the plant .
Boy , that one cooked quick . Very tasty .
Second pie . Pizza Margherita extra. With anchovies and prosciutto. Cheers.

I’ve used Woks of Life recipe for shrimp with lobster sauce several times - as close as I’ve gotten to approximating the New York restaurant version of my childhood ( as I remember it!)

Last night’s dinner was a salad to start then chicken casserole with buttered egg noodles. Since its hot as Hades I treated myself to a Corona with a wedge of lime. It was the best beer I’ve ever had.

That’s the recipe I used, too. But my ratio of shrimp to egg is off (of necessity - I’m not gonna use half an egg). I subbed tempeh for pork, which was not an inspired idea. And I forgot to de-tail the shrimp.

Our show went well: nobody melted, despite stupid hot temps & humidity, we had a great & attentive crowd, and we sold SEVEN CDs    — most we’ve sold in recent memory! — and I was so glad when it was all over!!! Only one more outdoor gig before we take ourselves inside again, and thank goodness for that!

We sped home so I could take a quick shower before the first peeps showed up for our shindig. The rib-eye sliders were super-popular,

as was former CH linny’s addictive Jarlsberg dip,

but people could not shut up about those beef dogs from Sam’s! So glad we have another 12-pack of them!!! Wait, am I saying we bought way too much food,

knowing full well that none of our friends would dare show up empty-handed? Why, never!

Our friends brought several salads,

a wonderful blackberry pie & lemon bars for dessert,

and MOAR beer & wine.

We have food in the house. A lot of food. Might have to have folks over again soon.

As for me, I’m kinda ready for some quiet time and a simple salad tonight

Congratulations on the sale of seven cds! Seven is better than none? And when you are on your world tour, those of us on HO will be lining up to see your shows and we can tell others “I know her” and you will be autographing our cds.

Dinner looks good. It looks like you have some talented chefs in your group.

Aw, thank you! I was mostly surprised bc nobody buys CDs anymore & I had the brilliant idea to order another 200 cuz we were getting “low” with “only” 50 left. :joy:

I can usually hawk one or two at our shows, but that’s about it — plus it’s available for streaming on all the usual online platforms like apple music, Spotify, etc. Nicer, of course, to get cash and be able to pay my dudes $20 each on top of our pay  I don’t even know what (if anything) we make from streaming sales. Certainly not enough to cover our losses for recording this one in 2018, which is why it’s unlikely that we’ll record another one. Maybe the two new original tunes?

As for a world tour… well, you are too kind. That is never going to happen, even tho a friend said “why are people listening to Taylor Swift when they could be listening to you” Right. I can’t even get my guys to play in NYC or Philly (although I might try for the latter).

And I’d be happy to send you a signed CD if you are interested

Our friends are good cooks, especially last night’s crew. We are lucky in so many ways
