Stir-fried mushrooms, bok choy, red cabbage and corn, with smoked fish, over rice. A combo of leftovers, stuff I picked up at Japan Village, and greenmarket vegetables. Oh, and some furikake.

Made a recipe I’ve had on my Want To Cook list for a few weeks, from 101 Cookbooks, which I really want to like but sometimes my efforts don’t match up with the author’s. But this one turned out pretty successfully!

This was kind of a complicated pick for a weeknight. I did not make labneh, but rather just grated some garlic into whole yogurt and used it as a sauce. I also refused to add a 4th pan to the endeavor and just wilted baby spinach on top of the bulgur pilaf and then mixed it in.

The tomatoes took forever to finish in my creaky, cranky 20 year old electric stove, but the extra 30 minutes they needed was worth it.

I worked the primary tonight, so dinner ended up being at 11:00 p.m. I made a quick quesadilla with corn tortilla and pepper jack cheese and had a stale grocery store cookie. That’s life! No pic.

In other news, our kiddo ate a chicken taco in a restaurant. That’s cause for celebration in these parts! :face_with_hand_over_mouth::sweat_smile:

Thank you for working. I will be working our polls come June which are always too late to make a difference on the national level but we’re in the midst of a have a contentious primary for senator that will be decided.

How was it? We have a Gyubee in Ottawa and I haven’t been yet but always wondered if it was worth the hype.

Met up with a couple of friends at the gay bar for small plates & drinks last night: vegan escarole salad in lemon vinaigrette,

chicken liver toast with pickled butternut squash,

and crab arancini with marinara.

I believe I already sang the praises of that salad here before, the chicken liver toast was very good, too… but the crab arancini were fantastic, and an absolute bargain at $5. I guess the kitchen had a surplus of REAL CRAB this week.

And then we had “just a few” har gow upon returning home …

   #drunkmunchies

Thanks to you, then, too! It’s a tough gig but someone’s gotta do it!

I’ve often wondered if “Royal we” should start a kid-centric thread. But I fear it might consist of only you and me. :grinning:

PS Bravo to your kid!

Pretty enjoyable for the money they are charging and not to mention the unlimited supply of food one can repeat ordering! To me, only downside was the buzz and noise!
Need to be more careful and selective with your choice of ingredients…some really good, some just mediocre.
