We enjoyed another excellent dinner at Bloom in Verona, NJ including crispy shrimp balls with Garlic aioli, pickled shallots and habanero sauce; delicata squash with Kimchi aioli, pumpkin seeds, maple glaze, burrata; Butter poached cod, white wine, bok choy, tomato, shallot; Kimchi Carbonara with Shrimp, parmesan, pancetta, herb butter; crispy shishito peppers; truffle fries; and escargot with Mornay sauce with a touch of herbs & parmesan. It all went great with an excellent cabernet and Syrah.
Scallion crepes with homemade, cold-smoked BC silver salmon. Cream cheese for me; mayo for him. Greens in vinaigrette.
I ate 3.
Rain, rain, rain. When Mr. BR talked me into buying this piece of property I live on one of his selling points was that water runs downhill, we’ll never be out of water. Sometimes there is too much of a good thing. Great football here, well sort of, Ducks lost, Niners won.
Seasoned with my pork seasoning, seared and roasted pork tenderloin with sweet & spicy Moroccan carrots. Parsley. Spinach, mushroom and red onion salad with creamy Greek dressing. Manhattan & wine. Dessert will be store bought fruit cake, toasted and buttered. I need eggnog, inspired by @mariacarmen I may make my own. The last time I made it was when we had chickens and I had an excess of eggs. I seem to remember I whipped the egg whites and added them in. So much better than store bought.
That looks really appetizing!
Where was you?
Egg and eggplant curry, which I didn’t realize was a thing 'til I randomly googled it, because I had both. Is good! Making use of @Saregama’s spice mix yet again.
And celery and blue cheese dressing both are gone now I have triumphed hurrah!
Oh, my god. My coworker, now dearly departed, stopped by my desk multiple times one Christmas season to explain her recipe with the whipped egg whites. I will never forget Sue. She chain smoked in her office (yes, really, in 2006) and did accounting ledgers by hand. She was definitely the two-martini lunch type back in the day.

Aha! Thanks.
I made a whole trout with leek and cherry tomatoes. Pictured before and after being cooked in the oven then plated with buttered egg noodles.
Only two?
Hard to say for sure
So, what did you gift yourself?
Also, there may have been one other person who was similarly situated (must have been, if even number, maybe not if odd), and similarly keep it under wraps.
My wife’s been gone a lot so that means I get lamb a lot.
In the skillet:
As plated:
What happens when the arm you’re using to tilt the smoking hot skillet gets splashed with smoking hot oil when the recalcitrant lamb shoulder chop flops back into the pool of oil instead of turning over as desired.
Beautiful lamb chops, ouchie on the burn. Yoikes!
I think you need some first aid and sleep !
Thanks, I got some of both last night. It looked much worse yesterday but I’ve been putting an antibiotic salve on it. That’s supposed to speed healing - they even have clinical tests(*) to prove it.
(*) Unfortunately their “clinical proof” was the antibiotic salve vs. nothing, whereas the better test would have been the antibiotic salve vs. the same salve with no antibiotic in it.
