ain’t no season like a BLT season… also, there ain’t no BLT season - just think warm bacon in winter :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The tomatoes being at their best during the summer is what makes BLT season and Tomato & Mayo Sandwich season a thing in Canada and the States.

A lot of greenhouse or imported tomatoes available from October to June don’t pull their weight in the BLT on this side of the pond. You may have better imports and greenhouse tomatoes year-round in the UK.

Some ways around a sad winter tomato:

fried green tomatoes used in place of the raw tomato

sundried tomatoes used in place of the raw tomato.

I eat BLTs year-round, but I agree the best BLTs are made when tomatoes are at their best.

I agree bacon sandwiches are always in season!
