I suppose so, since I was literally breaking my fast with the usual delicious suspects
I’d woken up at 5am with acid reflux & was up for two hours straight until I finally fell back asleep… thus the heavily delayed first meal of the day. We also have a dinner rez with friends at 7:30, so I didn’t want to fill up too much.
Ick on the acid reflux. My medication says take in morning, 1 hour before meal. With my Dr’s OK, I instead take it at bedtime and that seems to work better for me.
Speaking of Doctors and acid reflux, my doctor told me to raise my headboard up. Using some scrap wood (I had laying around) I raised the headboard about 4 inches, that seems to be working.
I guess gravity is helping keep my the acid in my stomach and not allowing it to creep up into my esophagus.
I had a horrible case of it last night and I haven’t had that happen for 14 months, ever since I started the protonix Rx. The throat burn was the worst! I don’t know what triggered it. I hope I’m not looking at another ‘mass’.
Aw, thank you all kindly. It’s not usually a thing for me (my PIC suffers from it far more often), and I blame the overly fatty and ginormous meal I had the night before.
Hopefully, this is not another excellent sign of aging & just a one-off.
no pics, but i finished up the last of the baked oatmeal i made earlier — coconut milk, dried cherries, cranberries, apricots, pecans — a dollop of plain greek yogurt and 3 sumo mandarin segments (@$3.99 each, have to ration:).
Leftover cornbread from last night and an egg bite. Very nice post-shoveling breakfast!

Thanks for the reminder! I have a jar of Ovaltine in the cabinet and I’m going to make a hot cup of it because it is 3° F out there right now! Maybe I’ll add a bit of decaf powder to it.
I hadn’t had Ovaltine in decades. I saw it mentioned somewhere and decided to give it a try. I use 2 heaping tablespoons of powder.

Had to look up ‘brummie cake’ but it looks interesting. New one for me.
