Another day, another breakfast in bed: an abundance of fruit, walnuts & yogurt.
Might be my only meal today in anticipation of a lavish dinner out with friends

Homemade Swedish Kavring bread with scallion creamcheese, homesmoked pink salmon (cold smoked), and fresh scallions. Hard boiled egg. Garden blueberries.
Lovely
Diner-style omelet with roasted mushrooms, scallions, and American cheese. Toasted onion-rye with butter.
Do you have a favorite granola/cereal in your fruit and yogurt breakfast bowl? I usually just pour some Post Honeybunches of Oats with Almonds in mine since that’s what’s in the house for husband’s cereal-only breakfasts. But if you have a recommendation, I could invest/make another granola for the combo.
No granola or cereal in my yogurt bowl — just yogurt, fruit & walnuts
My PIC adds grape nuts & I make fun of him for it all the time
Hash, with new crop potatoes, fresh Spanish chorizo, and three types of alliums: leeks, scallions, and yellow globe onions. Fried eggs - I broke my yolk.
Inspired by the article on sandwiches which define New York city: smoked salmon on homemade focaccia. It’s #3 on the breakfast sandwich list, from Radio Bakery.
Here with home-smoked pink salmon, scallion cream cheese, sliced cucumber, and pickled scallions on toasted, homemade focaccia.
Delicious! My only complaint is I didn’t make them big enough.
I made a batch of pesto today and had some tomatoes with some.
For brunch I had an omelette with a bit of Boursin black pepper cheese inside, and more tomatoes.
Where’s the brocollini!!!
The new (~ 6 months…) produce market on the corner of Broadway and Stockton (SF) had some good looking brocollini @ 2 bunches/$1.00. You’ve reported from this area a few times, might want to check this store out if in the nabe.
Proprietors are not Asian (Middle Eastern?) and have built a strong business in a short time. Refreshing to see some new kids breaking the mold.
I am saving it for the rest of the week Thanks for the broccolini tip, that’s much better than the $3 a pack Safeway charges. If I’m in that area I think I would be more drawn to the gai lan or yu choy though!
