Tuna and Salmon Sashimi with Ponzu Jalapeno and Aji Limo. Wife first shot at this dish we usually get at Ichiban. Really tasty.
Wait they have this dish at Ichiban? Is it like a ceviche? More details please!
Oh I’ve had that there, yeah yellowtail jalapeno, always a good time! Honestly your wife’s looks better!
While Katz’s pastrami is superb, their bread is awful. It doesn’t stand up to the pastrami’s juiciness and always ends up falling apart.
In addition to the pastrami, let’s have a moment for the half sours. YUMMMM
That club bread brought me back. Before real kosher took over my old neighborhood in Brooklyn we had a fair amount of kosher style delis. I forget what he called it, but the guy by my house had a crazy combo that was fat kid heaven. Pastrami, brisket, corned beef, chopped liver, tongue on club. Probably a pickled pepper on there too.
We had the normal (for us) Easter spread of antipasto, manicotti, lamb and assorted veggies. Very happy with this relatively famous Jewish Ghetto, Roman tart. Basically sweetened ricotta and preserved sour cherries. Came out pretty good. Fortunate that a chef friend sourced sheep’s milk ricotta for us. It was put to use in the manicotti and the dessert.
That tart looks like my kind of dessert!!
