Wrong
Not saying it’s dead for sure, but the longer it’s out, the greater chance it’s soon dead.
Especially trout, they keep moving.
Went on a trip for strippers this summer. There’s a slot limit for keepers. If it’s more than 38” back it goes. This is a 48” fish I landed. We caught fish non stop. Not a single keeper. The smallest fish was around 40”. Our captain said he had never had a day like we had before. Nothing but trophy fish all day. We stopped counting after 15. By the end of the day when a fish was hooked and the reel started screaming no one wanted to take up the rod as we were so exhausted. I doubt I will ever see another day like that again.
Did you mean stripers? Because it doesn’t look like there is much room for exotic dancing on that boat ![]()
That was after the fishing.
Thanks! I used up the fish three years ago, but if I ever make a whole fish or salmon trimmings, I have a couple of extra recipes to work with.
99% sure that’s a bot. sigh
Yup. Already flagged all their posts.
Really curious - what are the give aways (aside from brand new account)? Still learning how to spot those.
Brand new account + old thread is a dead giveaway. This is done on purpose by the bots because on many sites the old thread will stay buried and they can seed activity (which gains some level of trust) kind of under the radar. Beyond that, wording that’s a bit too formal is my usual red flag. Like in this case, a normal person would say something like “what I like to do is …” but the bot went in with more of a third-person voice that doesn’t feel like it fits the context of this site. Other things: overuse of emojis, overuse of bolding (see this bot’s other posts for examples of bolding), and summarization of things that have already been discussed. (Example, on some thread discussing restaurant options, a bot will often just kind of rehash the discussion that already happened. “In the Seaport area there are many great restaurants. If you enjoy seafood you might want to try …”)
Most posts sound stilted, and they very often respond to super-old threads & multiple threads at once.
I find them pretty easy to recognize & flag the fuck outta them, usually.
Good pointers! I always assume people are more polished writers than I am on forums!. Haha (avoiding an emoji…)
In addition to what @a_m said, look at “her” avatar. It looks like the one that came with the picture frame.
View in Google Lens, and it shows it as someone in New South Wales, Australia on LinkedIn (with 50 connections). So the bot stole the pic as well.
Remember @barca?
EXACTLY who I thought of! That was fun. ![]()
Can I assume the bot post was deleted, since I can’t see it?
They’ve been flagged
Yup, seems to have been.
well, not necessarily . . .
he did mention a thing about ‘poles’ . . .
