I took your advise and disassembled the peppermill, a quick scrub with a toothbrush(dry) I use for these special occasions, scrapped some built up pepper gunk with a small knife and took [Vecchiouomo’s advise and ground some rice thought it. Ez pz nice and breezy.

I had a dozen or so Perfex mills which had highly variable performance so I sold all but a couple a few years ago on eBay. There was nothing perfex about them. The capacity was small and the bolt that adjusts the grind wouldn’t stay in a consistent position so the grind would change during the process.
I would like a unicorn and if I find a deal on one I’ll bite, same with peppermate.
I received the super fancy overengineered one that’s marketed to alpha males that’s very expensive as a birthday present from my wife. In part because she paid retail price I can’t bring myself to open and use it. I don’t even remember the name of it but it’s black in color and milled out of metal.
I have the adjustable oxo that many have mentioned and it works very well in my hands.
I have an interesting one from dream farm, but the glass container has cracked twice during the milling process.
