My parents named our last cat “catty” and my father swore catty was always trying to “make a fool” out of him.
I’m going to have to see if I can share these with my daughter. She is a cat person. I used to be a cat person.
He’s a snowshoe. Thus the ever so slight cross-eyed look. I absolutely adore him. He’s a head butter <3
Wow! That’s a lot of cats!
Thanks for those words @ElsieDee
I’m used to living in uncertainty all throughout my life I guess. Lived during war for 30 years, bombs going off anywhere at any time, and now in political turmoil and collapsed economy. You know what the worst thing is? It’s to have the knowledge about what’s happening, and yet unable to do anything about it. If we were animals we don’t know what’s going on, and that makes the disappointment, the danger, the shame, much less.
Still we all soldier on
I’ll post a picture of the cabbage seeds I’ve planted. Your photo, however, is of professional quality, not like my mobile phone photos. We had a lot of rambutan last week. I have photos of them too. I must resize them before posting them here.
My dad always said he didn’t like cats and acted annoyed when they rubbed up against him. But when he thought noone was looking, I’d catch him petting and talking to the animal
Beautiful!
What a great way to start my day. Thanks so much. And yes I read it all. "“We’re all mad here.”
Sorry you had to have them put to sleep; it’s always such a hard thing to contemplate.
But note the advice on tuna varies but the one consistent thing is, it’s not enough nutritionally on its own. But you weren’t using it by itself - you were feeding them Iams, which is some of the best stuff out there, and only supplementing them with tuna. Outside of mercury concerns, which I think are not quite so much given you were mainly feeding them Iams, I don’t think it was a problem.
They lived well into their 20s, you say? That’s pretty rare on its own, really. Most make it 15, 18 years or so. And very (very) few on a percentage basis make it to 30. So Kim, I’m thinking they had about as long/full lives as they were going to have no matter what.
Our last setter, Opal, almost made 14. Hopps, the guy above in the blue chair, is an exuberant eleven. For anyone in the market for a dog, English setters can be very active outdoors, are slugs inside, rarely bark, are pretty clean and do not shed much despite the long hair, and are so sweet I trust them completely around anyone, even a toddler. Although we got Opal from a terrific breeder, Hopps is a rescue and, lo and behold, from the same breeder.
Yes, they had nice stress-free lives. They would hide under a bed when a lawnmower started outside or when kids visited in the house. And fortunately no medical issues until late in life . . . well, Malgato lost half a tail and Mole lost a part of her tongue , but they seemed unaffected by their differences.
And you’re right. Even though they were old and the vet confirmed when their time was coming, they were still three rough days.
My [sociopathic obsessive] approach to life has been…
If you can’t win, change the rules.
If you can’t change the rules, ignore them.
If you can’t beat them, join them. Then beat them.
When given a choice, take BOTH.
The squeaky wheel get replaced.
If something is worth doing, it’s worth doing now.
Push on.
So all along, you’re really Elon Musk and we’re characters in Undercover Boss.
Cool
I just had the ultimate online/rl experience on thurs. And as per your belated but sound advice I took action immediately. Conan has this discord server and he said something that pissed me off. I promised him I would smack him. I keep my promises. I drove to where he was in rl and smacked him. Dam troll had it coming. Who among us has not wanted to smack an online troll. Are you telling me violence is not the answer??? So confused.
I am outta cat food! Panic!!! Must run to wegmans and there will probably be a cold beer involved so I am outta here for now. Seriously thank you for the advice. One more question:" My [sociopathic obsessive] approach to life has been…" Are you Sure you are not a gamer? You sure sound like one.
I assure you if I was a gamer I wouldn’t last 20 seconds before being a casualty waiting to respawn.
I could go easy on you. And some games are cooperative. But thurs was pure magic. The comment that pissed me off was cutesy. I hate cutesy. After I nailed Conan good (pic of weapon is up) he made another cutesy comment. I didn’t hit him again, I did not want to damage my purse, but I breathed fire and his hair was smoking so much I did not want to set off the fire alarm at the library so I stopped and just told him to heel. He Obeyed and then we danced. Really danced. The group was age 20 plus and Conan and I played duel after duel. The one guy who can’t seem to “get” conan and me stared at us. I think he finally gets our gloves off play style. It was so refreshing. Thanks to the sausage bites I bribed Conan with to take food pics he had plenty of energy so he was a very challenging opponent. It was like this but I do own a throwing knife and Conan is a lot like uncle fester although he would never do the breadstick thing. https://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?fr=yfp-t-s&ei=UTF-8&p=addams+family+values+tango#id=3&vid=48668b511518526950e4c1fcf35f8382&action=click
I know this is meant to be general. Forest not trees. And I love theory but I like the images of playing cards chess pieces and dice. My game Magic The Gathering is cards and there a lot of complicated rules that must be followed. The game would be not fun at all without all those rules. Again a wonderful read.
