What have you purchased recently off the internet. Food wise . Or pots , pans . Etc.

Would those jar scrapers fit in a wine bottle?

I finally seasoned a carbon steel wok that I’ve had for a while. Consequently I needed to buy a wok spatula online. Also bought flour tortillas on FB marketplace from a local lady.

We will find out… Seller claims they work in ketchup bottles.

My sister bought me something similar for Christmas one year, but they have mini-spatulas at the end rather than the hoe-like head your set shows. Come in handy!

I’m looking forward to trying them. It’ll likely take months of dreg-scraping to pay for them, but I’ll feel better about wasting less food.

i tried Wild Fork online for their heritage berkshire pork. i also tried their price french heritage chicken Which tasted terrible, stringy and mush. this meat seller has everything frozen rock hard so the freezing and defrosting - WHo knoWs ho many times - might have affected quality. i WOn’t be buying from Wild fork bc it’s also frozen. the berkshire pork Was ok but everything else Was a doWner.

I was gifted a tub of solid beef tallow (did a favor for a friend). It makes amazing roasted potatoes!

Do you think you could reproduce the flavor?

sichuan peppercorns and maybe red chilis (msg?) in hot oil - like a chili oil?

what’s sort of weird is that it says not to stir fry (so no direct heat in oil - which is so different from the instructions for sichuan broad bean paste, and other Chinese infused oils and fermented sauces)

maybe the manufacturer thought the high heat would burn off the intrinsic flavors of the spices?

I don’t think so. I just wish I could figure out where I got this, or what wonderful person gave it to us :sob:

OMG MARRY ME!!! That is the sauce!!! Thank you so, so much for sleuthing!

I’ll have to order a few jars (if I can get them in the US), or order them while in Germany — since the price is in €.

Yay! :tada:

PS: Looks like a Dutch outfit, so I’ll have to wait till we’re back in Germany. And then to get it through US customs… :grimacing:

A fruitcake from a trappist monastery in the Ozarks and $200 of frozen seafood from BC.

Here’s another link to what looks like the same product, on a German site (no idea whether it’s a legit/reliable one, though): https://www.ugou.de/product/maxiangzui-five-elment-chili-sauce-200g/

I bet it’ll work. If you’d like a more commercial option, I’ve used udder balm (no not the udderly smooth kind)but Dr. Naylor’s is the one with clove oil added to lanolin. Cracks in my fingers, it really sticks with you.

I ordered a king cake from the legendary Dong Phuong Bakery in New Orleans literally 5 minutes after they went on sale on Goldbelly. (There’s an advantage to being on Pacific time.) I’ve never been able to snag one, so I’m really looking forward to it!
