What have you been watching lately?

Fair enough.

Just making me think of Hollywood superstar divas of that era multitalented women that sing act direct everything.

Cher Barbara Bette Idk !

About to start the new season of Jack Ryan.

Nothing like the books or even the movies, lighter and fluffier. But still entertaining.

I couldn’t get through the first episode

But I highly recommend “Don’t worry, darling.” Olivia Wilde’s quite talented behind the camera, and the fashion is absolutely gorgeous. Harry Styles can’t act himself out of a bucket, but that’s alright. Florence Pugh more than makes up for it.

Just mellows everybody out. Cheech and Chong to co-star. Pauly Shore as the bad guy. Dennis Hopper as the wolf.

Might be my favorite Eastwood movie. From The Good the Bad and the Ugly to this. Impresssive.

I like it! Willie can do the soundtrack !

Lots of Xmas muppet stuff none improved on this

We add on the 4th or 5th episode of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel. I liked the first 2 episodes but I’m growing tired of it now.

I know it’s a critic’s darling and hugely popular, but I couldn’t get into it either. Meh. But I felt the same about “Modern Family” and “Abbot Elementary.”

Really enjoyed the series, great writing and just fun. But it takes some time to get into.

Actually, the same holds for Emily in Paris. Just finished the most recent season, and it’s just plain fun as well as really well-made, like a Maroon 5 hit song.

Finally finished The Offer and it’s a must for any serious movie fan as it has a lot of references to other movies besides The Godfather, to famous people in show business (for example the relationship between Ali McGraw and Steve McQueen) and to popular culture of the 1970s. (And of course it’s one the best series of 2022…)

Just started watching season 2 of Firefly Lane, like it a lot.

The series I can’t as of yet get into is Andor: seen three episodes. Also found Glass Onion Knives Out a bit boring.

After having been subjected to the snooze fest that was Branagh’s remake of “Death on the Nile,” I thought the second installment of Knives Out was slightly more entertaining. Helps to have a fairly low bar I suppose.

We’re in the middle of the Korean zombie show “We are all dead,” which is fun enough. I watch more Korean and Scandinavian these days than any anglo-produced stuff.

Which Korean dramas can you recommend? I have seen some of them and liked them a lot but there are just so many of them these days…

I liked Knives Out 1 quite a lot, love mysteries. Haven’t seen the new Death on the Nile, but just rewatched the original a few months ago.

We haven’t watched any Korean dramas, just junky stuff like the zombie show I mentioned, and other zombie movies. Hellbound is pretty good, too. I’ve also enjoyed most of Bong Joon-Ho’s movies.

Me too, about 3 episodes in. Just right for right now. Am also awaiting the next installment of Reacher and the prequel to The Witcher.

One of the greats!

Aftersun at 1, Tar at 2, The Quiet Girl at 3. Haven’t seen any of these yet!

Okay, so The White Lotus series 2 is glorious!

A bit darker and less accessible (i.e. funny) than series 1, but overall more sophisticated. Very much a mirror to current day society, including themes such as rich vs poor and men vs women.

I can see why opinions on this show are divided, as it differs from many other series on tv. The tempo is slow and there aren’t many major characters you will want to root for, everyone has good and bad sides to their characters. Looking forward to series 3!

Binged the crime mini series “Black Bird.” The guy who plays the killer (a comedian!) deserves all the accolades in this world. Fantastic.
