I watched season 3. I thought there were too many balls and too much strolling, but I enjoyed it, especially the last episode.
Is that based on Scott Turow’s book. I’m pretty sure they made a movie based on it.
Yep. Read the book, saw the movie (Harrison Ford and directed by Alan Pakula) and will now watch the TV series.
Zarna Garg‘s insta reels. This one is even HO relevant:
I can cut a whole human being with this knife.
She’s not wrong, tho
That is THE quintessential Indian knife
You won’t find a home without it
No 20 types of knives nonsense
(I’m waiting for her to demonstrate the classic 1-handed chopping skill too. But the pineapple is her shtick, so maybe it won’t come.)
Stevie Van Zandt: Disciple on HBO. This was excellent. He is a real Renaissance man (musician, songwriter, activist, and actor). He was a lot more than a member of Bruce Springsteen’s E street band. I had no idea that he originally organized the South African Sun City movement, (and wrote the song), and gathered all of these amazing musicians together, which played a huge part in the release of Nelson Mandela. He also advocated for Native Americans. He was fantastic in the Sopranos, considering that he never acted before. He only took the role because he was broke. David Chase saw him presenting on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and thought that he would be perfect for The Sopranos. His real life wife played his wife on the Sopranos. Little Richard officiated at his wedding! Percy Sledge sang ‘When a man loves a woman’ at his wedding. He also produced a play on Broadway that reunited the Young Rascals. A lot of great footage.
Finished Outer Range. No resolution. Guess it got renewed for another season.
BUT someone here mentioned the Gene Wilder documentary, which we started on last night (I fell asleep halfway, but that was NOT at all the documentary’s fault). He seemed like such a kind person, and I really look forward to finishing it. Bonus: Mel Brooks shows up a lot whom I love as well.
Did you end up watching this? I got through the first episode last night and did not find it very compelling. Despite having a lot of elements - the production design, the cast - that appealed to me.
The series, Your Honor is now on Netflix. If you enjoy a real law caper and Brian Cranston, be sure to check this one out. Terrific cast.
I’m surprised they did a second season of it. Can’t remember how it ended. Too long ago.
There was still plenty of storyline to wrap up. Season 2 was full of answers.
Right. Not many I remember, but that’s entirely a ‘me’ thing. I believe we enjoyed it.
Six seasons of Animal Kingdom was a commitment but the family saga was compelling as hell.
I’ve never gotten back to it. I loved the premise and the actors but the first 30 minutes of the first episode were kind of cringy. For my stories set at a hotel, I love Acapulco on Apple TV. Third season finishes up this week and will be sad if it’s not renewed.
Oh, I’ll check that out, thanks.
I am and I do.
“It’s Vera in tone, with Ridley filling in for the beloved Geordie cop this time around. And like it’s northern counterpart, it’s filmed in a countryside setting, though this time it’s Yorkshire and Lancashire, not Northumberland (equally as stunning, however).”
I need to watch the first season. He was so great in Line of Duty. “Jesus Mary Joseph and the wee donkey!”
I’m unsure if this belongs in the What Are You Watching? or What are you Listening To? thread, but I’ll leave this here anyway.
Live concert from Waits’ most recent tour (a number of years ago). I saw him live on the Mule Variations tour. It was a bucket list thing. If you like Waits, jump at whatever chance comes along to see him live. A consummate showman.
