Don’t bother with the sequel.
We watched this last night. As usual, I already forgot the ending , but according to my dear PIC (who clearly has better plot retention skills than I do & also didn’t have a martini with the movie
), the woman killed her husband, the hitman killed the cop.
Two terrible people together, happily ever after. I liked the movie — at least what I remember of it.
Watched the first two episodes of the new Bridgerton season yesterday. Fine, but awfully talky. As Joe Bob Briggs used to say: too much plot getting in the way of the action (or something like that).
I used to enjoy reading Joe Bob’s reviews/columns, but I tried some of the movies he recommended. Oh my god - practically unwatchable!
Probably similar to the movies “reviewed” on Mystery Science Theater 3000!
If you like those kinds of movies, you might enjoy the Roger Corman documentary, Corman’s World. I recently tried watching it on Amazon Prime. Too gory for me, but I’m a wimp.
Probably 40+ years ago, my brother and I were perusing the videos on offer at Tower Video (I said it was 40+ years ago!), and we stumbled across I Spit On Your Grave. My brother remembered that Joe Bob had high praise for it, so we rented it. I wanted to bleach my eyeballs after less than about 20 minutes. I most definitely do not like those kinds of movies!
Join the club!
I enjoyed Joe Bob’s reviews but had zero interest seeing any of the movies…
Watched last night. Disappointedly boring.
Oh, that’s too bad. I think we might still watch it tonight… maybe our off-color commentary will make it more fun
Yes, it would have been much more fun with snarky friends. Veered into navel gazing far too often
House of Dragon S2 has commenced.
Rewatching Chernobyl.
And for fluff and fantasy and light stuff: A Discovery of Witches.
I have been enjoying this
I have not seen the movie, which I understand is only marginally related.
On our list!
Lordt, whatta snooze fest Shoulda listened to you.
We watched Forgotten Love last night, a Polish movie on Netflix.
Pretty good for a historic drama , and a change from the Australian and British stuff we have been watching lately on Prime.
On the Basis of Sex, RBG bio flick on Netflix. I enjoyed it.
I’ll just put on my super annoying nerd hat to point out that the Fargo TV series, while being Exec. Produced by the Coen’s, really has little to do with them.
It’s largely the creation of Noah Hawley, who’s been behind some really great and weird tv for a while now. He was also the primary show runner for Legion, a very strange X-Men adjacent superhero horror show that was, imho, criminally underrated.
His current project is an Alien prequel series. Ooooooo….
aka stop confusing me, this is not how I have a good time.
I am aware
Unfamiliar with Legion, not at all into superhero series or movies.
