Legion was definitely not for everyone, but for the film-literate comic book nerd (a larger than you might expect demographic, but still unquestionably niche) it was just what the doctor ordered.
I live with this guy. He was also confused. I know it had a passionate fan base, though, and I love the cast.
Season3 of The Mayor of Kingstown because Jeremy Renner made it back after his horrific accident.
I enjoyed every episode. Very creative and I never read comics.
We started Transplant tonight.
We started the second season of Outer Range. Neither of us remembered much of anything from the first season, 'cept that it was w-e-i-r-d. Recap was no help in that regard
Also, can I just say that Lewis Pullman is the spitting image of his dad?
Second season: also weird, but we like it.
She’s awesome – I had no idea she was 94! This is on my list to watch.
Disco: Soundtrack of a Revolution, episode 1 was on our PBS channel last night. It is a three part series shown on Tuesday nights in my area. Last night’s presentation concentrated on the origins of the disco movement its key players. Great dance tunes, too!
Watched that and positively loved it. Really interesting documentary!
We caught the last 15 minutes of that last night, and set the DVR to record a rerun of it. I had never thought of Rock the Boat and Rock Your Baby as being bellwethers, but in retrospect I can see they were. It looks like the next episode may feature the disco backlash, which I never understood.
Comic book nerd seems to be the largest demographic powering Hollywood these days. I had no idea and I’ve got two thirty something sons who never read comics. One is a huge film buff and was watching Hitchcock and obscure art films when he was 10. Just no superhero stuff although he loved Dr Who when he was 6-7.
Caught up on Ciao House last night and we got the two chefs in the final but lo and behold in the preview for next week we see a bunch of the eliminated chefs coming back. I’m hoping they are there just to be sous chef’s but someone on Reddit said they brought back another chef into the competition last season. Oh well, food has been good and love the setting. A couple of obnoxious chef’s but also some very talented ones.
Started Presumed Innocent on Apple TV. Pretty compelling so far (though Jake Gyllenhaal might be the weakest link)
Still in the middle of season 2
Still reeling over Kyle Chandler from Ep 1
Ok, after finishing the Stax series on MAX, it’s perfect timing for this one. I am particularly interested in the discussion of the songs that led to disco – I’ll be curious which ones they focus on. Does Kung Fu Fighting get a mention? How about You Little Trustmaker?
I used to work on a pediatric transplant team. That would make for a lot of drama.
I just finished “Bodkin”. I am still trying to wrap my head around the idea that it’s a “comedy”.
Yeah, when Barry was described as a comedy I got very sad about the direction comedy was going in.
We binged Bodkin over a couple of nights last week, and loved it. A comedy? Not really. There were a few laughs sprinkled here and there, but hardly a comedy.
