From what I’ve seen, they’re expensive - to acquire and stick!
From the Fall 2023 issue of Whiskey Advocate magazine. I used Bacardi 8 for the aged rum part.
Early Riser
1 1/2 oz rye
1/2 oz aged rum
3/4 oz lime juice
1/2 oz Velvet Falernum
1/2 oz grenadine
2 dashes absinthe
Place all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with grated nutmeg.
Applesoused.
I have sampled all manner of cocktail. For me a martini, an old fashioned, a Negroni, an Army and Navy, and a gin fizz will suffice.
Life is sweet. I’m SO jealous.

The Tipperary:
- 1 1/2 oz. Irish whiskey
- 1 oz. sweet vermouth
- 1/2 oz. green Chartreuse
- 1/2 oz. chilled water
- 1/2 oz. simple syrup
- 2 dashes orange bitters
Stir in a mixing glass with ice and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with an orange peel.
The Bijou. This can be adapted to fit however strong you’d like your drink to be.
*1 1/2 parts Plymouth or London dry gin
*1/2 part sweet vermouth
*1/2 part green Chartreuse
*1-2 dashes orange bitters
Shake over ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a cherry.
The Dude abides
An as-yet-unnamed drink a friend invented. Quafftide is a possible name.
- 2 oz. gin
- 3/4 oz. grenadine or cranberry syrup (not juice)
- 1/2 oz. lemon juice
- 1/3 oz. Licor 43
Shake and strain into a cocktail or coupe glass.
OMG. I’ve thought of many things, but never hot, mulled Manischewitz. There’s a whole lot of sweetness to temper, that’s for sure.
