Yes, caught that on your other thread and liked it. Sounds intriguing, visually and otherwise.
Scuba - We just made a standard Manhattan (2oz rye, 1oz Punt e Mes, barrel aged cherry bitters, cherry) and split it. It allows me to use my vintage cocktail glasses which are really small.
Thanks for the tip. Will have to try it
Cool! The crystal glasses I used was part of our wedding crystal. First time we used those in 33 yrs. that I can recall
OMG it was 80 today in Philly still G&T weather😃 thankfully supplies are still in stock.
Another delicious Manhattan this evening.
Bookers 2015-03 single barrel bourbon, Antica vermouth, bitters and homemade Luxardo Cherry stirred with crushed ice and ice cold. Sounds so good, I think I’ll have another
Cocchi Rosa Manhattan. Delicious! Rye, Cocchi (equal amounts), peychauds, and orange peel garnish.
Cocktails based on a Bakewell tart tonight. Raspberry crush and amaretto topped up with blanc de blanc. Hopefully they’ll turn out OK,
That looks fabulous! I think I’ll make one tonight.
I have been collecting vintage coupe glasses over the past few years and really enjoy my cocktails in them. I think they taste better! I purposefully have no two glasses in the same pattern, though they are all approximately 4 oz. capacity, or maybe just under that.
I love finding vintage bar stuff. I think I have 6 sets of cocktail glasses and a whole random assortment of other old glass/bar stuff. I found this pic of a few of the coupes we have collected. I agree, drinks taste better in pretty glasses.
Sazerac.
Madison Avenue Manhattan. 1.5 oz fig cardamom Aquavit, 1.5 oz bourbon, .5 oz lingonberry syrup, garnish with luxardo cherries. We started making the Aquavit a month ago and it was totally worth it.
You so fancy! Tell me more about the Aquavit. Love your glass and stirrer.
We cut the original recipe down to one cup of vodka. Add four dried figs, cut in half, and let soak for 3 weeks. Then add one cardamom pod and soak for another week. Strain and use.
That seems easy enough–thank you! Saving.
At dinner out last night DH had a Coffin Varnish and a Pliny, I had a Sazerac and Manhattan.
Great King St. (blend)
Just finished the bottle, now that the weather is growing colder I am transitioning to a scotch (single malt) more suited to cooler weather.
1 part Blue Curacao
1 part triple Sec
1 part cranberry juice
1 part vodka
1 cube light
I call it my Windex special
HA, that is one pretty picture! Love that hue. Was it delish? That’s really all the counts (well, and did it get the job done–I’m sure it did. ;)).
Last night was a boulevardier kind of night
