I haven’t. I haven’t even watched The Pitt despite reading a lot about it. If I’m going to watch medical shows, I prefer goofy or cheesy stuff like Scrubs or Grey’s Anatomy. I get enough of the hardcore stuff at work most days.
For all your goofy, cheesy medical show needs:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt21433690/
It’s basically Abbott Elementary, except it’s set in a hospital instead of a school.
You should def watch this, then:
It’s fucking hysterical.
Whereas I can understand your hesitation about The Pitt. We watch slasher movies where people are beheaded & dismembered with glee… but The Pitt is hella realistic ![]()
We’ve been holding off on it so we can binge a few epis in a row ![]()
I tried clicking on the link and it gives me an error message. I fear it might not be available on UK Netflix. I’ll search for it. And for St Denis Medical that @small_h suggested.
It should also be available on Apple, if that is an option for you.
I’m not an Apple person ![]()
It’s much darker and more absurdist than St. Denis, which may not be your thing, either ![]()
Noted. Just finished watching The Beast in Me, which was ok.
I don’t think I can handle another series with Claire Danes being mostly jittery ![]()
This NYT article brands her ‘TV’s Avatar of Anxiety’!
Tracks. Homeland was enough for me.
I thought she was very good in ‘Fleishman is in Trouble’ - she plays unlikeable women very well and you can’t but help sort of rooting for her character.
I don’t think I’ve watched that one, but don’t take my word for it. My inability to retain or remember any shows or movies I have watched in the last 5 to 10 years is a running joke in our household.
If you haven’t, I highly recommend it. I can’t remember all the details, but Claire Danes playing an out of control mother in Manhattan was a refreshing contrast to Jesse Eisenberg’s placid husband who is left holding their kids.
I added Apple fairly recently, to watch Slow Horses.
Sounds vaguely familiar. Not sure I can handle both of those in the same show ![]()
Ah, too bad. It’s harmless fluff, and your life will not be the worse for never having seen it. I like the lead actor a lot - saw her first in Downward Dog, then Emergence.
Today, I watched Sorry, Baby, a quiet film about making a life beyond trauma. Here’s a gift link to the NYT review.
We stopped watching St. Denis because we’d had enough of Wendi McLendon-Covey and Josh Lawson. The rest of the cast? Great. Those two? No thanks.
I stopped because I already watch Abbott Elementary, and I didn’t need another one. But your reason is good, too.
