Yes, it can be tough to watch, especially since you are in the medical profession. In both seasons they really try to throw the poor hard working, understaffed doctors under the bus, but the finales are satisfying.
One review mentioned it was a British show with an NHS perspective. I almost want to watch it for that.
the new season of jury duty (2nd) is called Company Retreat. the format is similar: place a civilian in an absurd situation and see how he/she reacts. it’s essentially the Truman Show.
the cast of actors does a great job embodying their characters and most of the gags are very funny. the civilian they chose to be at the center of it all could quite well be one of the kindest persons i’ve seen depicted on TV. fascinating, funny, and actually heart warming.

the perfectly nailed Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory ending was a triumph.
I keep forgetting about this! We thought Jury Duty was hilarious.
Well, Rooster is getting dumber by the episode, so I’m not sure we’ll be able to stick with it.
Saturday’s SNL with Jack Black and Jack White, OTOH, was pretty funny.
One of the few in recent memory that I didn’t want to fast forward through a good portion of it.
I even watched the second White set, despite my love for geetar-heavy rock barely extending beyond Bowie or the Ramones, and I’m glad I did ![]()
Weekend update was the weakest in a long time for me.
Oh, and it looks like DTF: St. Louis might be not as clear-cut as initially implied.
Still one of the more intriguing shows out there. Kinda heartbreaking, that last episode.
Finally watched Sinners last night. Even not being into that kind of story I can definitely see why it’s won so many awards. Acting, cinematography, and special effects were amazing. We’re NOT into it and my wife kept asking why anyone would make such a film. Me? I appreciated the work.
The music / dance scene alone makes me want to rewatch it. Absolutely mesmerizing.
I’m planning a screening for my gal pals next week ![]()
I sat next to my cousin at the Seder, and although we don’t know each other SUPER well, I figured we had a lot in common (based on her Facebook posts, mostly). She said she hated Sinners, and now she’s dead to me.
But then she said she liked One Battle, so maybe I can deal with her after all.
I thought it was always kind of a sad show. I think we’re all caught up? And Shrinking is going down a dark path also.
I mostly found the interpersonal dynamics in that… throuple (?) interesting, and of course there was the question about murder vs. suicide, although it seems like the latter is far more likely.
Shrinking going dark? That might almost sway me to try it again…
We can’t wait for Hacks to come back!
I found the ex wife annoying so I hope she doesn’t get too much screen time.
I find the writing annoying, and I’m not hopeful it’ll improve. Not even Steven Carrell might be able to save this.
I could not get through even one episode of *Shrinking", but I am glad it’s successful.
So surprising, with your user name! I love it. But chacon a son goute.
We just finished watching the full season of The Gray House, on Amazon Prime. It was very good, but could have been a couple of episodes shorter. The executive producers are Morgan Freeman and Kevin Costner
Just watched (I think) the most recent episode of DTF St. Louis, and I dunno if you watch Abbott Elementary, but I was very shocked to see a scruffy version of Jacob! I’m still getting over the dead dad from Six Feet Under being in this show.
This is probably just me being alive too long.
