Always loved that Led Zeppelin song!

And of course another band notable for their use of a mandolin!

Mahler’s first symphony, the Titan. Just ordered number four.

So many great choices. The VU is truly a world changing band. However, for just exuberant hard rocking I go with Big Brother and the Holding Company.

Wow ! Very provocative indeed ! Throw in a little Cole Porter and the possibilities are endless!

Glad to. I love rock and roll, jazz, classical, rap, and pretty much everything else except for some country. However, I love Willie, Lyle, Robert Earl, Lucinda, and a few more. I just inject classical because during the day it is manly what I listen to. When the martini pitcher comes out I shift to jazz usually. Rock is fuel for housecleaning. This morning it was Let it Bleed.

Very cool, thanks for sharing that! Was really hoping to see Willie’s 90th bday show at the hollywood bowl, but hard to justify the ticket price when i can spend the same money fly to NOLA and get a brass pass for the entire jazz and heritage fest! I’m primarily a jazz and blues listener. My best job ever was working in a record store in the late 80s and early 90s - I still reap the rewards of that one. Enjoy your weekend! A full martini pitcher is a good start !

Robert Crumb (album artist here) is still alive and long ago he illustrated the cookbook wife #1 wrote ā€˜Eat It: A Cookbook’. I’ve enjoyed several recipes made from this book.

How cool I didn’t know that he had a cook book !

I’m a fan!

He has been quite a prolific illustrator. If you can, check out the cookbook illustrations, you’re in for a great time. Same with some of the recipe instructionsā€¦ā€˜keep on truckin’.

Last night I listened to a repeat of ā€˜The Psychedelic Circus’ program on MTPR
(mtpr.org, third Friday, 10pm mountain) with Joan Richarde and Doc Sandoz.
Time traveling to my youth.

Are there any noteworthy musicians from MT? Seeing Jeff ament from Pearl Jam. I once met JK Simmons from OZ and Whiplash here in LA. He’s a proud MT son.

My friends here are quick to point to this cover in this series.

Any others come to mind ?

I was planning to post a link with some of the most provocative album covers in rock history, but I guess it’s more fun to post some of those songs instead… Keeps us entertained for longer!
