What are you listening to?

i love the whole ‘when the morning light comes streaming in I’ll get up and do it again’ ethos, it makes me feel good about being an average person and finding meaning in regular stuff and loving relationships…kinda like

Shine up the old brown shoes
Put on a brand new shirt
I’ll get home early from work
If you say that you love me

That’s why Muddy is/was so important to me. You hear the delta and electric Chicago in his tunes. His version of Mannish Boy kills. Got that muddy voice nobody got.

For sure. When you steal the show at the Last Waltz, that says a lot!

That’s true, but he doesn’t have Son House’s voice

or Blind Willie Johnson’s

I just got done baking a cake for a cookout my girlfriend and I are going to tomorrow, I’ll frost it in the morning. When I was a little boy, my mom would always sing this song whenever she baked a cake. So my poor girlfriend is subjected to hearing me attempt to sing this every time I bake a cake.

Glenn Gould playing Bach’s piano concertos. You may recall one of the them in the soundtrack to Slaughterhouse Five.
