Stevie Ray Vaughan - Riviera Paradise
To me Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best blues guitarist, that has ever lived.
I’ve listened to him since I was a teenager.
I was devastated when he died in that helicopter crash.
I agree. Saw him his last tour. He got even better once he got clean too. His legacy lives on.
For this board I like this
Hell yes! Seen him 4 times. Loved every show.
As I’ve said, Sinatra seemed a bit arrogant in real life; but if you’ve seen him live, there’s just something special there.
Cole Porter may go down as one of America’s greatest music men. Here’s Frank taking on Cole’s heroine addiction tune.
did someone say jazz?

maybe we’ll get that NOLA page on this website sometimes not sure who needs to be bribed with etouffee !
IDK - he’s awesome tho that’s for sure! SRV certainly created his own sound, built on the back of giants too.
My taste runs to the delta personally

super cool, I’ll spend some time with that !
I love Delat, too. Hard to name any one blues guitarist as the GOAT, though.
Charlie Parker was amazing. Cannonball Adderley, as well. Personally, Sonny Rollins always floated my boat, as did John Coltrane. Can’t get enough sax.
In more modern times, I fell in love with this sax.
supercool
I once met Archie Shepp in Amherst, MA – living sax legend too. Max Roach taught us a class too – he did a “beat box” with his mouth and cheeks, one of the most incredible performances I’ve ever heard/seen.
Also a big fan of Lou Donaldson, also still alive!
