The first Christmas of the pandemic, I stumbled upon an apparently long-established tradition: a dj on Philadelphiaā€™s WXPN stays up for 24 hours to play non-sucky Christmas music, starting at midnight on the 23/24th and ending at midnight on the 24/25th (ending basically when the clock strikes Christmas Day.) Thereā€™s a Facebook group
of people listening all over the world, sharing shots of their trees and gingerbread houses, and just generally keeping one another company. Thereā€™s something simultaneously cheerful and slightly sad about the holidays, and this show is a key way I cope:) I also inevitably hear tons of terrific, new-to-me holiday music. I stream it at Xpn.org. You might enjoy it.
