Fritz Kola is kind of the opposite of Kinder-Cola (which I loved… as a Kind ).
I am obsessed with their Rhababerschorle, perhaps the most refreshing summer drink. And now I have to post this, of course:

Have you tried Spezi? I’m not keen on orange so I haven’t tried it.

Paulaner Spezi isn’t good. Better by the original Mezzo Mix
What about SchwippSchwapp?
I don’t like any of them — too sweet for me.
That should have been Good Drink Iced Teas.

Okay, thanks.
Like everything from Pepsi, including SchwippSchwapp
Yup. We gave up soda (including diet) about a decade ago, save for the occasional Mexicoke — which is also sweet, of course, but it’s a small bottle & we usually just share one with lots of ice.
Great with burgers & spicy/salty Chinese foods.
I enjoy Almdudler when I can find it at World Market, so it was great to go to Austria (its home) and be able to get it anywhere.
Also, apropos of nothing, the Orange Cream Coca-Cola makes an excellent float with vanilla ice cream.
My sis and I spent a few summers and winters in Kärnten as kids, and I adored Almdudler. I just recently saw it in Berlin and was tempted to get a bottle — they even have 0.33l versions now
Such a unique flavor! I also loved Ananaskracherl, which is basically a pineapple soda.
I only buy them for Cuba Libres.
Ah, yeah. That is not my drink at all — also too sweet for me, even with a STO lime. But if it were, that would be my coke choice as well.
Polar Orange Dry, Polar Red Grapefruit Dry and A&W Root Beer are my choices , regular or diet doesn’t matter. Its a rare day when I want any kind of soft drink, though.
I’m not sure if it counts, and overlaps with the McDonald’s thread, but I’ll also confess I’m a sucker for a Cola slushy. A Slurpee™, a Frozen Coke™, or some no name ‘slush puppy’ gas station machine, I will always end up getting one.
Is it a drink? A dessert? I dunno. I tell myself that I’m actually drinking less sugar per fluid oz because slushies are partially air, but I’m quite sure there’s no meaningful difference, and I’ve expended no effort to check.
I used to have a blue freezable plastic mug in the 80s that turned pop at home into slushies. I noticed something similar being sold last week.
Looks like their are Slush Mugs and their competitors available through Amazon. The original ones that are now vintage, and new versions.
Wonder what kind of plastic was being used in the 1980s version. LOL.
I didn’t realize the Slush Mug was already a thing in the 1970s
I never really liked soft drinks the only exception being A&W root beer. For the longest time we never had any A&Ws in downtown Ottawa but you can find them in every mall in every other neighbourhood in town. About 3 or 4 years ago an A&W opened near my office so I headed over for lunch one day with a colleague who is about my age and neither of us had eaten at A&W in decades. We both liked teen burgers and root beers back in the day so that’s what we ordered for lunch and we agreed after that our burgers and root beer didn’t taste as good as it used to. I’m pretty sure none of the A&W products have changed - just our tastebuds.
One beverage that a diabetic friend got me hooked on is home made iced tea. My friend brews some green tea and when it has cooled she puts it in a pitcher then places it in the fridge and voila homemade iced tea. I have also done the same with oolong tea since I alternate between the two. I’m not sure if my friend flavours her tea with anything but I find a lemon slice makes a nice touch.
I have been ordering a lot of mocktails these days when I dine out and a lot of them use ginger beer as a base. One of these days I am going to try just the ginger beer.
I remember those slush mugs. When my kid was little we had a couple. They’re basically a tiny ice cream freezer bowl where you and your spoon become the motor/dasher. They worked to a point, but were just ineffective enough to be more trouble than the results were worth. And smaller hands had neither the patience nor the skill to use them without making the counter a disaster area.
Mind you, I’m not so far gone as to think I want one of those Ninja Slushi machines or anything. I don’t need to make my access to more sugar water any easier.
I love homemade ice tea. Without sugar!
