What are you baking? Nov 2025

When you say “stuffing cubes”, do you mean bagged, dry, small seasoned cubes, such as Pepperidge Farm?

From last evening, this is possibly the most attractive pan of rolls I’ve ever made. King Arthur potato bread recipe plus an egg wash. Perfectly brown and shiny.

They were the size of softballs, and super fluffy. Next time, I’m making the rolls half as large. The dough balls here were around 90-95 grams.

Yes, the cubes and not the “stuffing mix” which is broken up / crumbly.

I bought bread to make the recipe from scratch when roast duck was the only main, but when a whole turkey was added (!) I bought stuffing cubes as well.

This week’s bakes: (not) Pullman loaf from Midwest Made. I was feeling poorly last weekend and wanted nothing but toast and tea, so made this rather than leave the house. It was delicious the first day and made great toast, but it dried out pretty quickly. Browned butter cardamom banana bread and chocolate meringue cookies from Milk Street Bakes. I really like the banana bread, but I’m a sucker for anything with cardamom. I liked that you added the cardamom to the hot brown butter, then stirred the rest of the wet ingredients in. Butter never gets soft in my house at this time of year. I made the cookies to take to a friend. They are very dark and chocolatey, with melted and chopped bittersweet chocolate and cocoa. They are not very sweet, but rich. They happen to be gluten free too.
