That sandwich looks so good! My other half would say “where’s the meat!”, I’d have to slip in a slice of ham or something, I would love it just as you made it. Yum.
Beauty. Is that a tube pan?
Thank you, yes it is a tube pan, rounded edges. It’s a Fat Daddios, comes in various sizes.
A few years ago we did a CCC taste-off with family and friends, and Tara O’Brady’s became our go-to after that. I try to keep a stash of dough in the freezer!
The pizza was well received and quickly polished off by our host and friends! Unfortunately, I didn’t get pictures because I was running late and rushing around to pack up everything I needed. I will definitely make this again before summer is over! For anyone inclined to try it - I sauteed corn, a clove of garlic, scallions, a small red pepper, and a jalapeno. I spread a very thin layer of pepper jelly over the Roberta’s crust and topped with the corn mixture and smoked cheddar.
What am I baking? I am! Too d#Ʃ~d hot! Looking forward to more favorable temps.
I hope they have these cookies in heaven!
APB… first sighting of Prune Plums for those who love “THE “ plum torte NYT. I have a strong suspicion that these particular ones will be hard to pit as I had purchased them from the same vendor at the FM last year and they were a pita, but I couldn’t resist!
I have Plum Torte envy!!!
Not yet…, I’m going to wait a week and hope they soften up as they are hard as a rock!
I also bought rock hard plums. Are you softening them on the counter or fridge?
Counter…I’m guessing close to a week, five days minimum.
Thanks. I think the farmers are impatient
I think these came from his neighbor’s backyard
This was my first attempt at a “Hot Milk Cake”. I’ve also heard it called a “Hot Milk Sponge Cake”. I put a lemon glaze on top. It was pretty good for a first attempt. My girlfriend loves sweets, so I do try to make something for dessert.
*** Side Note *** are we supposed to give credit or say where we got the recipe??
Please advise… thank you.
Not necessary to give credit but if you would like to give details, that’s fine , too. And the cake looks lovely!
I just saved a few recipes for this kind of cake, so I’d love a reference or link if you don’t mind sharing – looks delicious!
I got the recipe from “Glen and Friends Cooking” on youtube.
The glaze was powdered sugar, lemon juice and meringue powder. I did add a little water (to the powdered sugar mix) until I got the consistency I wanted.
You’re a really special boyfriend!
