The boards on “Straight Dope” are pretty interesting/entertaining, are fairly well moderated and have taught me a lot. IMHO, it’s how a site like Twitter/X should be. Be forewarned, though…it can be quite a time waster/rabbit hole!

I crewed aboard a tall ship with a guy that had been one of the drivers for the wienermobile. He said it was like being a celebrity. Everywhere the vehicle stopped people would mob him and ask about it. I get the feeling that that is the MO of the drivers. People who like to do something a bit different and find a way to do so. It sure wan’t for the money.
